Totally fair. It was my local town's page though so I guess it just frustrated me to hear it from a sub that's typically full of mellow college students. It was far from the first time getting looked down upon for my work, online or not anyway.o.pwuaioc wrote:Well, there's your other problem. Reddit is garbage. There's no point in caring what some rando on a website thinks, especially since you know absolutely nothing about them. Maybe it's a 12 year old kid who is barely literate, or maybe it's a troll, or someone else who is just clueless about the world. Reddit is a cesspit that's best ignored.SamuraiMegas wrote:That's a fair point, and I'm in sales/marketing. I had brought it up yesterday in a post on Reddit looking for some vintage shirts that are smoke/vape/drug related to wear at work. One dude got all high and mighty about it like there's no way I could possibly make decent money and it really annoyed me. I guess people put very little consideration into how products get to the shelves. There's wholesales selling to the shops, and manufacturers selling to both shops and wholesale (I work for the a big manufacturer doing that). There's jobs at every one of these levels that pay well if you know what you're doing.

Pretty good day so far, aside from winning four bucks from ten dollars in scratchers.
Also I wiped out on my bike in the parking lot at Food Lion. Side of my leg looks less than ideal and stings like crap, but I've had worse.

Damn, that looks painful. Love the Dream Warriors shirt!
So my drug addict sister in law just got checked in to rehab, but not before telling my young nephew that my best friend I've known since early high-school is a pedophile. He's totally not, and tho socially awkward, he's into buff large breasted women (and buff cat girls...) as anyone who knows him could easily surmise, and has many times talked about how much he hates any child abuse. She doesn't know him well enough to have had more than passing short conversations with him, and again, he's really socially awkward. Why make any situation she's in worse than she already does? Because she is a sociopath. Bad for children to be around her more than anyone else I ever met.

Made homemade blood orange sorbet a few nights ago.
The next day I discovered it was hard as a brick because I didn't add enough honey (literally any liquid syrup will work).
Thankfully all I had to do was thaw it out a bit, toss it back in my Magic Bullet blender with WAY more honey and it's fixed.

Lmao just my fucking luck. I used floss cause I felt something stuck between my two front teeth and instead a piece of my tooth came out. This is after losing almost a month's worth of my income because my cat got very sick.
Keep in mind, I make a few hundred less per month than a full-time minimum wage employee does, and I'm sure disability won't cover this dental treatment.

PSA: Covid is still around and kicking. Picked it up in Atlanta for a work trip.

Sorry to hear that. Get well soon.

: Last night was kind of a strange night. I met my in-laws at a Cracker Barrel and guess what? It was prom night in southern Kentucky! I never thought my overalls would be "severely under-dressed" for Cracker Barrel of all places.
And the waitress was strange. She thought we wanted to hear about her "alcoholic fiancé" and how he punches the mattress when he gets drunk... oh but don't worry he doesn't hit her(?). Totally appropriate conversation between strangers, amirite?
Okay lady. Sounds like you've got some issues going on... can we just have the check please?
