I specifically asked about enclosed traps. Would welcome any experiences folks have had with enclosed traps.

It might work for you. I'd do more research on it than I did.

I have had success with havahart (that is a brand name) live traps, but I've only used them outdoors. They have a good among outdoorsmen.

They're live traps and they're enclosed in the sense that they capture the rodent in a cage, but I'm not sure that's what you're looking for.

Pest control companies will put big beefy enclosed traps outdoors and then periodically remove them.

I just want something I can put out on the porch without worrying about a cat getting hurt. I have some leads.

While I'm not proud of it, I do have to admit that I haven't had mice in over a year after using glue traps. But then again I've noticed the odd cat hanging around from time to time. And around the last time I had mice, I can't recall seeing too many cats around.

Strangely I've been seeing TONS of rabbits over the past year, year and a half.

Your cat won't get hurt with a havahart.

If you catch a squirrel with a havahart you risk hurting it if you don't release it within a few hours. Trapped long enough, a squirrel will get into a frenzy and may kill itself.

I'm not really a glue trap fan. Yeah, they work but they suffer. I use ye old wooden spring traps. At least that's instant death.
