Good question but I don’t know the answer. Some foods that come from Italy for example, have a distributor located in the States so I’m assuming there’s a reputational risk involved if something is contaminated. Places from Japan or South Korea, where a lot of the stuff comes from in this particular market in Brooklyn, NY, I feel have high standards when it comes to the exportation of food. And brands like Kit-Kat are an international well-known brand so there’s reputation at stake. I’m just taking an educated guess here.

I am not talking about the reputation of the brand. I am speaking of the license to be able to distribute that product else where. I imagine that a KitKat from Japan does not have a USDA license and does not meet USA laws in things like labeling and others to be imported. I do not assume its OK in the USA (or else where) to have a product on the shelf with all Japanese letters over it and no English to say what this is and what it contains.

Most imported food comes through distributors who do attach a label to the product which is in English and has basic nutritional information and ingredients.

My bad RCBH. Yes you are both correct: I don’t believe you can just throw a product on the shelf in a different language and be done with it. There might be exceptions such as going to a market specifically targeting a group most associated with the origin of the product such as some tiny hole-in-a-wall Chinese shops you’d see in Chinatown NYC (and I assume other variants in large cities). In the case of the market I went to, everything has a small English label for the lost part with what it is, list of ingredients, and nutritional facts.

Side note: if I saw that flavor KitKat, I’d immediately leave the store and go home for the day. I’d call out of work the next day too

They didn’t even edit out the Japanese flavor of the original package before they dumped shellfish on it. It’s sparkling strawberry. In case you can’t guess, those images aren’t strawberries.

Speaking of fruit, is it weird that I could really fuck hard with some blood orange sorbet right about now?

After spying some blood oranges at Food Lion I've been wanting to try my hand at making some homemade sorbet with them.

Please do not incorporate fruit into your sex life. It can only lead to yeast infections.
