What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?

If by "only viable solution" you mean "only solution I'm interested in reading". You're literally replacing items that came with the mic which you suspect are defective and thus the seller's responsibility to remedy.

You're also being disrespectful to everyone else in this thread. You'll notice that NONE of us have endorsed your preferred solution, and by suggesting our guidance is non-viable you are basically disrespecting the collective experience and knowledge of this community. For that reason, I think it best you not discuss your microphone here again, regardless of the outcome. Consider that mod guidance. Should you continue to beat on this drum you will be given a formal warning.

:D My Retroid Pocket 3+ arrived in the States last night. Tracking said it "arrived at the destination airport". I figure it'll be Monday-Tuesday at the earliest when I get this boss little device. Look it up on YouTube. Damn thing can run Dreamcast, PSP and most PS2 and GameCube games at decent speeds and STILL run damn near every Android game out there. And all with HDMI output. Well, 720p.

:D Somebody set up a server, which you access just by putting in DNS settings on your PS3 so I can finally update Motorstorm again! It happened like a year ago, so I am late to the party, but better late than never.

The game predates PSN updating and was all handled in game, similar to Resistance Fall of Man.

The biggest issue with Motorstorm is to play the different DLC packs (that you have to purchase and play via PSN) you have to have your game up to the date as of the release of that DLC. So if you have 1.0, even if you buy the DLC packs, you couldn't play them without the update on your system.

I've been wanting to get a PS3 and softmod it. What's the best model for it?

The DNS thing I was talking about doesn't require a modded PS3, literally just changing the network settings. My PS3 is not modded.

2 minuets of googling showed up a whole stack of info, none of which I will link here, it seems to have far more to do with what firmware you have installed, then if you are passed that firmware, which model you have to downgrade the firmware. Happy hunting!

All PS3 models can be modded, but some can't be modded as fully as others.
Example scenario (don't ban me!:
The newer models can still run everything the fully modded ones do, With the newer models, you just need to run a preliminary softmod program after boot to be able to run the unsigned code. No big deal whichever model you choose. Once you start looking it up, you'll easily determine which type you have. If you want full unfettered access to your PS3, you'll likely need to buy an ancient one. No big deal if you already used your current newer model as fodder, and succeeded. Simply load its small hard drive with GTA, Little Big Planet, Skyrim etc. and use a utility to install all the extensive DLC. You can trade straight across for the fully moddable system.

:D Gave Veronica's kids their presents. They were definitely excited, though not as much as me! I was probably the biggest, most excited kid there!

They loved their presents.

Frown. My fridge has died; I discovered it today when I saw water coming out the freezer door and it turned out to be a defrost. Got a new one coming Wednesday and just pitched a ton of frozen food (I had just gotten a meat delivery so that really sucks). I have a mini fridge to make do in the meantime.

Thankfully I'm very spartan in how much space I use with my fridge and freezer, but I would absolutely HATE! HATE! HATE! if my freezer crapped out after buying a ton of food. Especially if I buy out all of a single product, like when they've got Pizza Rolls on sale and I load up on the pepperoni ones. Or if it's ice cream, which I seldom buy even though I fucking love ice cream.

Hope the new fridge works out.
