We eat a lot of oats. I've looked at bulk, but I haven't really found them cheaper per ounce than the 42-ounce cylinders they sell in the grocery store.
If you're actually buying for long-term storage, you'd want to re-pack them anyway. That said, my understanding is that unprocessed whole oats hold up much better long-term.

We tend to use quick steel cut for oatmeal and rolled oats for baking and bread.
Re: What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?
We also do oatmeal for breakfast almost every day, but unfortunately don't even have the option of more than the store cylinder.

So basically, a bit of Wicked Binge, Minty Comedic Arts, Phantom Strider, et al.

No, from Amazon. Here it is.
I figure better to start with a cheap one that way if the whole general purpose YT pop culture content creator and/or podcaster thing doesn't fit me, I wouldn't have spent too much.

One of my girlfriends is having a hard time with fusing her idea of what a relationship should be like, and what she and I have, and it's getting in the way of us having a fantastic time together : (
I've been practicing polyamory for about a decade, and overall it's been much less harder than being mono. But this is hard to swallow, I hope we can figure this out : (

So, it's looking like my brother's ex-wife Betty (not her real name) is going out of town for the holidays. She popped into the store today and that's what she said. But OMG, my youngest nephew Link is so damn precious! And he's so talkative for only two! Oh, and apparently Daisy is asking Santa for clothes. Peach wasn't with them.
Back to my plans for a YouTube channel and/or podcast, I'm thinking about not having my inaugural KOTHy Klatch episode being a ranking of Christmas episodes. Even if I did rewatch all seven Christmas episodes, write a script and wait for the microphone to get here, I would not have enough time between two jobs, albeit on reduced hours, to record it.
Plus I gotta figure out a whole bunch of details, like how to feature clips of the show without getting a copyright strike. Granted most of the clips would be done like how Wicked Binge and Johnny 2 Cellos do it. And how soon do I start a Patreon? How do I get sponsorships? Who would listen to me reacting to watching Friends for the first time? It'd literally just be audio, a la a commentary track.

Re: What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?
I had something really annoying happen.
My bedroom didn't originally have any ceiling lights. So about 12 years ago, I installed two flush mount light fixtures. Earlier this week, as I was dozing off, I noticed that one of the light fixture was hanging from the ceiling by it's wires. I couldn't go to sleep and leave it like that, of course! So I attempted to at least do a temporary fix. I took the fixture off and notice that the plastic electrical box had broken and detached from the spanner bar (I had installed the typical plastic box that has a metal spanner bar that installs between two ceiling joists). Well, that's extremely weird! So just to get by, I decided to grab a zip tie and just secure the plastic box back to the spanner bar. Just until I get a chance to do a permanent fix (midnight isn't a good time for that). But when I was trying to screw the fixture back into the box, the plastic kept breaking. Somehow the plastic became very brittle and it just cracks and snaps very easily now. Now that's VERY weird. I've come across many plastic electrical boxes in houses, many way older than mine, and never seen one that became brittle like this. There must be something wrong with mine, like it was manufactured wrong or something.
So at that point, there was nothing I could do at midnight. My only choice was to snip the wires and tape them off. Then I used blue painters tape (yes, we're still on tape talk!) so I didn't have a hole in my ceiling. But this past week has been kind of crazy with work, and I didn't have any days that I could get home early enough to work on this, so I had blue tape on my ceiling with wires hanging out all week long. It was driving me nuts to look at it! Also, the room doesn't light up well with that fixture missing. So I had to use a couple of spare lamps all week.
Today was my first chance to fix it. And since next weekend is Christmas, this weekend was really my only time to fix it. I had to sort of blow off a Christmas party today, but I just couldn't stand to leave wires hanging out of the ceiling in my bedroom any longer. Luckily, during the week, I had time to pick up two new electrical boxes. I got two because although only one broke, I bought them at the same time so I was suspecting the other one was also brittle. Which means it was only a matter of time before it broke too. The light fixtures I put up are actually quite heavy. Thick glass dome, and a heavy metal (no pun) decorative ring. They weigh quite a few pounds. If you're thinking I might have used the wrong electrical box, the ones I got are rated for much more weight than my fixtures (like big ceiling fans) so that's not the reason they broke. There must have been something wrong with the chemical make up of the plastic, because it shouldn't become brittle like that.
Anyway, when I was swapping out the box for the one that broke, I had a really hard time reinstalling the old fixture because it was so heavy. I think I had someone to help when I originally installed them. But today I was solo. I could have made do, but I decided to instead go out and get new fixtures. I was sort of on the fence about replacing them anyway. I REALLY like the way my old fixtures look, but I was really tempted to get new LED ones. I've tried putting LED bulbs in my old fixtures, but I could never get them to look right or work correctly with my dimmer switch (I have a fancy dimmer with a remote). So after being annoyed with the weight of the old ones while trying to install them, it drove me over the edge to get new ones.
$100 later, I have two new LED light fixtures. They weight next to nothing, and they're really flat against the ceiling. Also, they will put out virtually no heat compared to the incandescent bulbs I was using (four 60w bulbs). Oh, and use less electric. The new fixtures have a switch for color temperature. Which is very important to me, especially in the bedroom, because I hate those really white (cool) lights. I much prefer the look of warm incandescent bulbs, which are very yellow, and get even more yellow (and even a tad orange) as you dim them. Well. I have my new fixtures on their warmest color temperature setting and they're still not warm enough for me! I'm going to give it a few days to see if I can get use to them, because they're not as horrible as some other LED lights I've tried, but I really do prefer something warmer. The new fixtures have a lens I can remove, so I'm thinking of trying a filter in them to make the light more yellow.
The thing about incandescent bulbs is that the color gets warmer as you dim them. But LEDs do not act this way. There's just something that's more comforting, more cozy, about warm light. Cool or daylight white is for the garage and retail stores. But in my bedroom, I really want a warm light. To me, it has the glow that a fire or candle would give off. Maybe that's why it's more comforting.
Oh, and it's a good thing I decided to replace the other box as well because it was indeed brittle.
I had toyed with the idea of switching one of the light fixtures with a ceiling fan. The only real reason I didn't is because they would no longer be symmetrical and I thought that would bother me. But now I'm thinking it's a good thing I didn't put a fan in. I probably would have done the one that's positioned more over my bed, pretty much where my head is when I sleep. With my luck it probably would have fell on me while I was sleeping LOL.
Anyways... Has anyone ever used any color filters for lights before?
