Re: What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?
Thanks everyone. I think I'm finally mostly back to normal now... Though I still have one day of sick leave approved so I'm gonna relax at home one last day.
My new job has been going OK but I'm experiencing some issues with getting paid right. Gotta hop on a zoom call at 8:30 tonight to talk to HR. Working for a Chinese company can kinda be a pain.

Thanks, everyone. The family of the deceased has been posting pictures lately and it kinda hits me in the feels. He's looked like the same guy since I first knew him.
Get well, Megas.

Found a Nintendo Switch card on the ground outside today. Tomorrow I will clean it up and test it out, and then donate it to the auction!

Okay, I'm calling it... tape talk is officially out.
Wrapping paper talk is in!
At the rate I'm going, the 1-2 rolls I got might not be enough. Thank God Dollar Tree got some in.
Anyone got any awesome Christmas cookie recipes?

Reuse old bags. And Scotch tape them shut.
Who else has been using Scotch tape lately?

Nope, tape is still the new hotness. Until this war on Thanksgiving subsides, tape is the jam.
My son had a great solution for tearing one of his card pockets on his little Pokémon card binder: he took the initiative to tape it, with that Caliber tape no less. His work is a little messy but rather functional.
Also, I’d like to advise being wary of any double-sided rug tape that claims to be safe on hardwood floors. Unless your hardwood floor has a couple mm of acrylic over it that tape WILL pull up wood. I am frustrated how I was misled.

War on Thanksgiving, my ass. It's probably Milhouse.marurun wrote:Nope, tape is still the new hotness. Until this war on Thanksgiving subsides, tape is the jam.
But seriously, breaking out the Christmas media the day after Halloween is NOT a "war on Thanksgiving". At least I waited until after Halloween. Except when I wrapped some presents.

I refuse anything Christmas until after Thanksgiving.
I actually had to tape a few things this week...
Taping lines that aren't straight is always kind of a challenge, but I don't know, I've always just been naturally good at taping.

I found this new exterior grade tape. It touted that it can be adhered to rough surfaces, is exterior rated, and will come off cleanly if removed within 7 days. Well that sounds like something I can get on board with, so I decided to try a roll. I used it last week on rough surfaces (cement foundation and stone) and it worked perfectly. It held for a few days, even in a damp location, and came off cleanly. And then I used it this week indoors, because I had to paper a tiled floor. To be honest, I didn't feel like cleaning the floor for blue tape (blue tape doesn't work well at all on dirty or dusty surfaces). And if you've ever used floor paper (it's a little thicker), you know when you get to the end of the roll the memory in the paper really makes it want to curl up. Blue tape doesn't always have enough holding power to counteract that curling. So I used this new tape, which holds more like Duck Tape, and it worked very well. And it still removed cleanly!

I've only used it twice so far, but I'm very impressed and would recommend it.

Whoa, works on dirty floors and strong enough to beat the memory curve? That sounds awesome! How much did this tape run you?
I'm actually sporting my Shurtape right now, as I'm currently on set. Do any of you ever have the need to tab your tape? We have to in the film industry, in case someone needs some in a hurry and our hands aren't free. This way they can grab the tab and easily get the amount they need while we can keep doing whatever work we are doing.
