July I went for the first of two surgeries: Carpal Tunnel Release. Did the left first, then the right was at the beginning of this month.

Just going day by day. Things are more stable now and I finally have feeling back in my hands.

Oh, I got a transfer to a new office. I gave up my actual office for a cube but the travel is less stressful and cheaper. I an now working in an NJ beach community. Real clean place!

Been playing my GBA with an Everdrive cart. Kirby and the Amazing Mirror to be exact.
Whoa, dude, that's a hell of a summer! I'm glad you're recovering from your surgery, and I'm also glad your mom is doing ok after that. I can't even begin to imagine what that must have been like for you all, but it sounds like things are getting better.

Damn, man. Seriously, damn.

Gucci, I'm sorry to hear about your mother and your surgeries. I'm glad you're both doing better now and I hope you're both able to relax and enjoy the end of the summer.

Also, that's awesome about the office transfer. How far of a commute is that for you? My company has been going back and forth between being hybrid and requiring people to come in two days a week to not having a required amount of time in the office. Right now, we aren't required to be at the office, so I've been mostly at home.

And Repo, that's great you've paid off your back rent. Please start budgeting, so that you're able to keep it up!

So big news... I got the job and it pays even more than I thought.

42k a year salary plus commission and travel pay. I'm about to make grown man money & work a job I actually am interested in. Life is good.

edit: also, I've been on this site ten years now. Crazy how time flies.

Congrats on the job, Megas! That's a great feeling, getting your first full time job and annual salary. I think I still have my first paystub from my first full time job after college. Good luck at your new company! Hope all goes well for you there.

Congrats Mega! And thanks everyone!

While summer was very roller coaster like, I’m glad that sweater weather is coming. Got lots of new threads that I’m interested in taking out for a spin.

Looking back at the posts I’m an idiot lol I forgot to answer better.

Note: the travel is about the same in terms of mileage but the cost is significantly less. I go from $7.50 a day in tolls twice a week to minimal or no tolls at all. Time stays the same too but can be faster by driving on a toll road for a lot less money.

My mom is doing much better. Taking it day by day of course.

And the hand stuff is whatever. I had to get it done. I had constant numbing in most of my fingers. Couldn’t feel certain textures and was waking up at night due to the pins and needles feeling.

I don’t know if I shared it here but here’s a funny little joke — if you ever need to get carpal tunnel release done on both hands and you want to do both at the same time, ask yourself this one question: how are you going to wipe?

Been having a hard time finding sriracha at the store and so I decided to look into buying some from Amazon, only to see everything costing more than I was looking to spend.

 Turn out there's a sriracha shortage! Nothing made an at best adequate frozen pizza taste amazing quite like an incredulous amount of Huy Fong's iconic hot sauce.

Well, they lost a lawsuit after dicking over their former main supplier. And everything costs more right now.
