Or I could get rid of both. I figure they're getting in through a space in the floor, either a hole or they're squeezing in through a space near the pipes. Either way, I figure some metal mesh material would work.

I'd say call your landlord but apparently he doesn't take care of anything.

I actually try not to pester my landlord with things I can either take care of myself or things I can get someone I know to take care of it. For example, with the mice, I laid out some glue traps and eventually I stopped seeing the little fuckers. As for the sink, I can get my dad to fix it, though the problem usually is that I don't have a time where I'm home and he's not at work.

If I had snakes coming in the a fucking hole in my floor I'd dam sure be calling him to 1. Fix the hole. And 2, get a exterminator for the snakes and mice. And fix my dam sink as well, prolly roaches from that. That's just insane!
