I've lost count of the number of colonoscopies I've had (I have mild Crohns disease). For me, the prep is better if it is prescription. The few times they had me use over the counter miralax, I was less than pleased. I kept having the urge to go even after the procedure.
Passing the gas after the procedure is the worst part in my opinion and that isn't all that bad if they do a good job sucking put the air when they are done.
If given a choice, don't get a sigmoidoscopy instead of a colonoscopy.

^ yeah I had the miralax. Wasn't that bad, cause you're fasting before you take it, so what passed was mostly liquid. Didn't have much gas either. All that stuff sucked, of course, waiting for the results was the worst part. It's like you put your life on hold. I actually put off kickstarting some genesis games until I knew I was going to be around. Just the way my mind works I guess lol. Crohns runs in my family as well, so that was a thought.

Glad you're alright!
I had a colonoscopy once and the prep was definitely the worst part.
But I'm reminded of a story I heard at a place I used to work at:
My boss' boyfriend (who used to come around the place) was getting a colonoscopy and didn't have any experience with it before. He talked to one of my coworkers who told him "when you drink the laxative, it takes a while before it starts working and you might think it's not doing anything but then it ABSOLUTELY WILL." He interpreted that as meaning it takes at least a couple hours before he'd start noticing anything (reality: it's more like 30 minutes). He was also taking classes at a college in Queens, NY and our boss later shared that he decided it would be a good idea to take it down there before getting on his motorcycle and riding to his home in the Hudson Valley (at *least* an hour away).
Nobody had the courage to ask him for the details as to how that worked out from him but there was speculation that the car behind him would need to use their windshield wipers...

^Thank you! That's funny lol. Yeah I took a few days off from work in case of a blowout!

Did a colonoscopy last month. Second time in as many years. They found a polyp last year and wanted a second one done in a years time to see if anything else developed. Nothing came up thankfully. I’m 33 years old. Last year, we were saying what would have happened if I wanted for 45? Would I have even made it?
Not something I want to think about.
Anyway, took a quick trip to Manhattan this morning. Saw a rather uncomfortable looking building:

Also went to Brooklyn to a daily big Asian market. Got a shit ton of Pocky boxes. Like ten different kinds. And four flavors of KitKat. The ones you’d find in Japan only. Found the best one yet: apple cinnamon!

I own too many hoodies jackets hoodies and DS games and I’m not ashamed!

Lucky! They sell Pocky at Food Lion, but only a few varieties. And not many foreign treats (British chocolate, Japanese KitKats).Gucci wrote:Anyway, took a quick trip to Manhattan this morning. Saw a rather uncomfortable looking building:

Those are the Copper Buildings. I used to live right down the street from them. I know someone who lied to get the subsidized housing lottery (still a bit salty about that) and man oh man, there are some gorgeous views in there. If the unit faces the river, you get a good view of the fireworks. If you're facing midtown, you can see the Empire State Building.Gucci wrote:Anyway, took a quick trip to Manhattan this morning. Nice units, too.

If I owned a place in NYC, I'd be torn between a brownstone in Brooklyn or a Manhattan penthouse. I see myself and my future husband raising kids and I just gotta have a dedicated game room with a few arcade machines, flat screen and a crap ton of game consoles, so I tend to lean towards the former.
