guncon1 on the ps2

is it possible to play guncon 1 games on the ps2 with a guncon1?

i know that the guncon2 won't work on guncon1 games. What i'm not sure of is if the guncon1 works at all with the ps2.... any help?

I was curious if i need to pick up just a guncon1, or a ps1 and a guncon1.

Yes you can use a guncon1 on the Playstation 2. I do it on my slim PS2, but it should work on the fat as well, especially since the fat probably has better compatibility.

Yup, all but 1 or 2 legacy controllers don't work on PS2.

There's even a couple PS2 games that support the ol' Guncon. I think Ninja Assault and Crisis Zone might be the only ones that DON'T actually...

I think Time Crisis 3 is Guncon 2 only. I think the Guncon 2 also had an additional button, so while some games might work with the Guncon1 they would be relatively unplayable.
