I am going through Awakening now. I’m on Chapter 1 and need to progress past Chapter 4 to get access to the store.
Next is Fates. This one I need to progress past Chapter 6. This is quite complicated. I have the “full version” with all three stories. However, if you have either one of the two games, you can buy the other story and the middle story as DLC (latter one being DLC only outside of the super expensive cart). I assume that down the line, the version with all three stories will cost an astronomical amount of money.
Last game was some remake. Echoes. I read that you need access to the map. Not sure of the chapter.
Sadly, the Special Edition, with all three stories, has always cost a lot of money, and it’s in the $200-$300 range right now. I am certain it will appreciate in light of the eShop’s closure.
I’ll remove the 3DS updates from the first post in this thread since, as AJ noted, you can just search “update” in the 3DS eShop to see all the physical games with free updates. You can’t do that in the WiiU eShop, though, and I’m developing a list of physical WiiU games that can be updated.
Also…and this is potentially a big one…there is free DLC for Xenoblade Chronicles X that, basically, preloads a lot of the game’s assets on your external storage. This download saves wear on your disc drive and improves loading times substantially. Accordingly, anyone with a physical copy of Xenoblade Chronicles X should get the free DLC if they plan on actually playing the game at some point. I’ll be sure to note this in the first post when I update it.
