What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

I dunno. Are you aware of how many PS1-era throwback survival horror games there are? I literally have a dedicated horror subfolder in my games folder and anywhere from a quarter to a third, rough estimate, is modeled after early 3D horror games.

:D In an almost 24-hour period, I scraped all the Genesis, Master System, Sega CD (there was only 16), 32X (there was only 5, including a Sonic 3K hack that got migrated to the 32X), Master System (which included a handful of homebrew titles from SMS Power), Game Gear and NES games, as well as tried tackling issues with a few of the ports and then walked to the store and decided to treat myself to a DiGiorno. I think I've managed to, on average, scrape a game every 20-30 seconds.

 I'm so goddamn tired! I've been up since 1pm yesterday, which was after going to bed around 8:30-9am, waking up at noon and going back to bed until 1pm. But I need to get this finished so I can install Project Eris on the PSC for Betty's kids and then when the time comes copy all the pertinent files from the flash drive for Veronica's kids' PSC and onto the flash drive for Betty's kids' PSC, which totals over 200GBs and box everything back up with the flash drive, USB OTG cable, 10ft USB cable I bought in a three-pack and the USB AC adapter. And have all of this done in less than 48 hours.

I can do it. Hopefully.

Man, this unwanted christmas gifts subplot is kinda depressing. :?

Can't wait until we get back to the mice and the bike tyres. I had a theory those two threads were about to merge.

I just picked up one of those gen 4 Pokémon game remake for my nephew. Also got a few tcg packs.

The super duper crazy thing is that my nephew is super duper into Pokémon.

You plan to give a couple of 7-year-olds a bunch of M-rated survival horror games?

The script for my passion project is at 5.5 hours of speaking time according to wordcounter so far. I still have 4 games to talk about and they will most likely be at least 30 minutes each. This doesn't include skits and segments of showing gameplay/commercials/interviews/etc so my guess is the video will be 8.5-9 hours long.

I didn't beat the final game yet, but I do know at least a ballpark of where it'll be on the list.. to play 29 Zelda titles was a beast of a project and I am happy that I am so close to finishing it.

I know this is a mental illness thing. Starting projects like this is a bipolar symptom, but the fact that I actually might complete it is gratifying, even if I'll probably only get around 150 views for it.

Just felt the need to rant about this because it feels good to do stick with something after 2 years. Although a guy did make a video of the resident evil series that was almost 8 hours long, and he managed to do it in less than 4 months. Granted, he said he did 16 hour work days for it.

Among other things, including Thrill Kill and that Sonic 1 hack that claims to be "an ordinary Sonic 1 ROM hack". But I've also balanced it out with quirky and unusual titles such as Rayman and Jumping Flash 2 (JF1 is built into the PSC).

I just wish I had the money to buy DualShock 4 controllers (4 per console), 8bitdo Wireless Adapters (one per DS4) and two USB hubs. And the money to buy 512GB flash drives instead. And the money to buy and mod and further deck out a PSC for my brother, who FYI...

:D Recently announced his engagement to his girlfriend...

 ...who's a few years older than him but yet is about the same height as his oldest daughter who's only 11.

150 views or not, be proud, dude. It's a hell of a project, and you worked your butt off. You deserve to pat yourself on the back.

I feel it necessary to point out that Rayman might be more damaging for the youngins than the M-rated horror games, given AJ's review.
