The game looks cleaner... that's about all I can really say.

I really hope that they at least slightly rebalanced the gameplay. Otherwise, the whole trailer with Wolverine vs Ryu wouldn't make any sense, considering Ryu would have bit the dust 5 seconds into the match.

Sweet. I've never owned this one, or played it much at all. What I have played was as fun as any fighter. Just fun. I'll probably be getting this one.

Update: Capcom-Unity has more details on Marvel Vs. Capcom 2. It's based on the Dreamcast code, it will have HD upscaling, optional widescreen, all 56 characters are unlocked at the start and will feature custom soundtracks. Also, you can play the game THIS WEEK on the PlayStation 3. The demo will be available in the US this week and will be available shortly in Europe soon after. No word on a Xbox 360 demo at this time. There's an HD version of the trailer availble on tu4ar right now too.

I've never understood the whole "Based on the Dreamcast Code" deal. Weren't the PS2 and Xbox versions "based on the Dreamcast code"? Wasn't the NAOMI nothing more than a Dreamcast in the shape of an arcade machine?

Glad to see custom soundtracks. Now I just need to see "Remix Gameplay Option".

They say "based on the Dreamcast code" just to assure us it's not a port of a port (PS2/Xbox). You pretty much answered your own question.

I'm curious as to how they'll do the optional widescreen. With SSF2THDR they had widescreen zoom in a bit, since regular SF2 has wasted verticle space when you get down to it. As combo-heavy as this game seems to be (I haven't gotten into it much) it seems like you could really change the dynamic if the widescreen maintains the same height and expands the play area.

It looks like it is actually widescreen instead of a zoom or some other fake

The crisp filter from the comparison shots looks best in my opinion. A nice compromise between the jaggies and the blurryness.

Smooth looks the best in still frames, to me atleast. I still want to see how they look in motion.

Ok, after readings IGN's piece on it, it seems that it is not entirely widescreen. I guess the players movement is restricted, not allowing players to become further apart than 4:3.

Does this sound kind of retarded to anyone else? Whats even the point?
