WWE IMO became just a circus directed by excel sheet figures on what makes more money and keep people watching. Trying to fake excitements really makes my stomach turn over. Watched a tiny bit of AEW and looks like its more like adult version of WWE but still no real substance. I think the internet and breaking kayfabe killed a lot of what wrestling was about.

The good thing about the wrestling business is when you are 8 and all of this is new to you its very exciting, by the time you reach 16-18 and you are out of that phase there is a new generation of kids that see this as exciting tv os the money keeps coming in. I would be happy if I owned my own wrestling organization knowing that I will always have new stream of customers and that my business will not fade away, meanwhile I can just repeat everything I did in the past decade so less effort by me and I gain a happy customer.
I don't think any REAL wrestling fan watches WWE...just my opinion. With the possible exception of NXT, which is often the only decent product WWE produces. I can't watch WWE programming. I swear I get almost physically ill from how awful it is...but I've enjoyed a few NXT shows

I'd suggest Lucha Underground if you want to see something radically different, though some people hated it for that exact reason. Many of the stars currently in AEW got noticed in Lucha Underground. Much of the "cinematic wrestling" that flourished during the pandemic was pioneered by Lucha Underground, Broken Matt Hardy, and probably a few other places too but people acted like it had never been done before.

If you want somethin a bit more...I don't know, traditional, NJPW might be for you. Assuming you don't mind everyone speaking in Japanese. There's a lot of hard hitting more realistic looking matches there, though they do have a few of the "choreographed dancing" type matches too. Most of their stuff is strong style though, with stiff hits and matches that look painful

Also, I'd like to point out that AEW did something really surprising a few weeks ago. They had an actual, UFC, style match...in an actual octagon style cage too. It was between Hager and Wardlow. Not sure what prompted that, but it was interesting.

Pro wrestling is a strange thing. Everyone has a different idea what "real wrestling" is or what the magic formula is for pro wrestling to be as big as it was in the 80s or Attitude Era. I've come to accept that it's impossible to make all wrestling fans happy. Personally, I just enjoy wrestling in all its forms. I don't care if I'm watching a spot fest, a technical match, a Deathmatch, an intergender match, a story focused match, or "cinematic wrestling"...I don't care. All that matters is that it entertains me

you are not wrong but to me WWE and many other pro wrestling things became more of a reality tv type of thing, a repetitive over dramatization of things... other than the kids I just do not get why even watch it. In there 90s and 80s there was a lot of new concepts, fun ideas, and interesting characters like mankind, steve austin, heel Hulk Hogan, nWo, King of The Ring, hardcore ECW, casket matches, Iron man match, it was fun watching the heel Japanese giant Yokozuna take on the American Hero Hulk Hogan.

One thing to note, I always saw WWF RAW as a horrible show it was mostly jobber vs mid-carder and you will be excited to see mid-carder vs mid-carer for the final match, meanwhile evil Eric Bischoff started one of the Nitro shows with Ric Flair vs Macho Man    I like how that guy went to great lengths to take down WWF and he was responsible for all the mid 90s pro-wrestling popularity.

After WCW took over the ratings of WWF, RAW became a circus doing every possible thing demeaning thing begging for people to switch to their channel. Nude women, profanity, acting like idiots, a bootlegged nWo(DX). If it wasn't for Steve Austin, Mankind, Rocky Miavia , and The Undertaker WWF would have gone down under, not to mention the Montreal screwjob that fate had it turning McMahon into the evil CEO character which made the great arch-enemy for Steve Austin bringing hoards of viewers....either that or that was the greatest angle in pro-wrestling history if you are into conspiracy theories...

I never thought I'd be excited to see Christian Cage win a TNA or Impact title, but winning BOTH by beating a wrestler the caliber of Kenny Omega, who was holding THREE world titles from THREE different wrestling companies, and doing it in front of a large crowd on a historic show debuting a new TV program for the second biggest wrestling company...bravo Christian. You have arrived. It's really cool how AEW has opened the door to NWA, Impact, AAA, and NJPW...allowing each company to have their wrestlers and titles appear on AEW shows to expose them to more wrestling fans. It's great for booking too, as you can have a guy holding no AEW titles still stand out by having a title from another company, like what they are doing with Lance Archer. Anyway, congrats again to Christian, who also has an upcoming match for the AEW world title. Christian has been in AEW for barely longer than a hiccup and already seems like a bigger deal than he has in years and Impact/TNA feels more relevant than it has in its entire existence.

If you are talking about Christian Cage, this guy is nearing a legend level in Pro Wrestling. I so much prefer him over WWE Kross and Lashley. Why does Impact even exist at this point, its near school gyms level. Better AEW buy whatever left over it has.

I still can't believe this happened, and if the Daniel Bryan rumors are true than AEW is working miracles

saw a clip from CM Punk debut. At first I thought I was watching WWE RAW then realised AEW has upped their game. And that excited crowd, haven't seen it like that since I dunno.... early 2000s? It was jam packed even in COVID times. This just show you the difference between a wise management and people who do not know what they are doing, this could have been TNA which is what I like to call the pro-wrestling graveyard. I am also happy they are bringing in so much attention because I have natural hate towards Hunter Hurst Helmsley and the WWE that turned pro-wrestling into a circus filled with clowns with the lowest grade tv entertainment and the most boring talent I have seen in modern wrestling history. It was just a gold laying goose for them, they didn't care about the business itself any more. They were not even trying.

On the other side of the arguement, Mr.Khan is actually richer than Vince McMahon so he can buy out WWE out right. Its Monday Night Wars all over again!

Yes, it seems like Mr. Khan is not playing games. He's made some rather major moves for the company in the past few weeks, and considering some of the rumors floating around, CM Punk is not the only major star he's acquired for AEW. What's funny is that WWE tried going head to head with AEW on Wednesday night by putting AEW's Dynamite show up against WWE's own NXT show. Ultimately, AEW won that ratings battle and NXT was removed from Wednesday nights and now it seems WWE is making major changes to NXT. Supposedly, Vince McMahon is a bit bitter that AEW beat them on Wednesdays.

WWE is also releasing a lot of talent, while AEW is acquiring MORE talent.

Looks like AEW is getting more views on YouTube than WWE. History shows that WWE is the resilient organization, I am hoping that AEW is not just throwing money out there and hoping for the best then realise its not worth while and quit like TNA. Another thing I like about AEW is that they seem not to care about WWE, they are not competing against them, they do not care of their existence. They just mind their own business and do what they think is best for them, unlike TNA and WCW that tried to go head to head against WWE.

I like that AEW creates stars that most of the fans like. WWE makes whoever they like the stars, regardless of what fans think. They pushed John Cena as their top guy for years even though many fans hated him. Then, they pushed Roman Reigns as their top guy even though many fans hated him. WWE has shown that they literally do not care what the fans think. They push people based on who Vince McMahon likes, not who the fans like.

I don't follow wrestling but I extremely appreciate seeing pictures of fans holding up signs with controversial video game opinions.
