Those old Nomad battery packs use Ni-Cad (Nickel Cadmium) rechargeables, and all you really need to do is swap the old batteries inside withe a fresh set of Ni-Cads NOT Li-on (Lithium Ion). Things can go very bad if you put Li-on batteries in a Ni-Cad system, or vice versa.

EDIT: They may use Ni-MH batteries, but I would check to see what the actual batteries inside the pack say before buying the replacements.

Can you even get Ni-cad batteries anymore? I thought that all the rechargeable batteries are Ni-MH nowadays. I'm assuming that I also shouldn't put Ni-MH batteries in a Ni-cad setup.

Yup, try here:

Also like I said before the batteries may also be of the Ni-MH type so check and make sure what type MH, of Cd before you buy.

Most modern consumer electronics are Li-On tech nowadays but industrially Ni-Cd and Ni-MH are still more widely used.

Woah that site rocks, you're the man! Looks like I should be able to set that up, of course assuming I can get ahold of the rechargeable battery pack in the first place. To the intarwebs!

Check out their store locator, they've got stores nationwide and some stores will even hand deliver your batteries to your house for the lazy man modder.
