What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?
Re: What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?
Man, you eat the most processed diet. I would encourage you to cut back on some of that stuff.

I wouldn’t mind that at all. Is that in Williamsburg, off of the BQE? I’ll probably visit that place some time in the fall. I hate going to nice little spots like that with the oppressive heat/humidity.Note wrote:Shrimp burger sounds awesome. I heard that restaurant in BK Win Son Bakery has a legit shrimp burger. I tried the fried chicken sandwich when I checked it out, which was great. Maybe that could be a compromise spot if you can't pencil in the road trip? Lol.Gucci wrote:I don’t mind the 9 hour drive for a shrimp burger.
I own too many hoodies jackets hoodies and DS games and I’m not ashamed!

You talking about colonial Williamsburg in Virginia? Man, that place is downright pleasant!

No, Williamsburg in Brooklyn NY, home to the largest spike of Measles cases in the United States since the introduction of the vaccine.
God I miss the pre-pandemic days of 2019.
Oh, and Peter Luger Steak House, home of the most overrated steak this side of the Mississippi.
I’ll stop now…

Real talk: Minetta Tavern's cote de boeuf is worth it. Wolfgang's is just as good as Peter Luger's. Go to Keen's for the old-timey feel. The real garbage steak though is Ruth's Chris. Tourist food through and through.Gucci wrote:Oh, and Peter Luger Steak House, home of the most overrated steak this side of the Mississippi.
Which steakhouse not on that list should I go to next?

Gallagher’s was always my go-to in NYC, but I haven’t been there is over a decade. Is it still good?

I went to NYC/Williamsburg for a film forum meetup back in 2013, and my friend just stayed in Tørst the majority of the time.

For *years* whenever I heard tales of hipsters in Williamsburg, I thought they were talking about colonial Williamsburg
It sounded like a weird match, but you know, whatever works for ya.

Wolfgangs and Keens are great places. I always had a good time at Old Homestead in the city. And if you’re inclined to take a trip to the Iron Bound district in Newark, Fernandes Steakhouse is wonderful. Used to always get the ribeye on the tile where I can finish cooking it how I want. Drench that thing in butter all day!o.pwuaioc wrote:Real talk: Minetta Tavern's cote de boeuf is worth it. Wolfgang's is just as good as Peter Luger's. Go to Keen's for the old-timey feel. Yeah, it's off the BQE. They have two locations right in that same area, the Bakery location is the one with the different burgers. Just a heads up, since the menus at each location are different.Gucci wrote: I wouldn’t mind that at all. Is that in Williamsburg, off of the BQE? I thought DeStefano's in Brooklyn was great when I went there in 2019. I gotta go back this fall/winter.o.pwuaioc wrote: Real talk: Minetta Tavern's cote de boeuf is worth it.
