What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Nah, you didn't start the ball rolling. It's been on this hill for longer than most have been on this forum. We've been reading this since the Wii was a current console. No need to fret, you're solid.

So, on the good side, my cousin's husband has successfully had all his spinal abscesses drained, and he appears to still have movement in all his limbs. Also, the staph is responding to penicillin. On the bad side, he had lots of spinal abscesses and his recovery will be an extended one.

This is pretty accurate.

Montreal is awesome. I visited twice back in like 2013 and 2014 and had a great time. My friend and I drove up from NYC, and it was around an 8 hour trip. I would definitely go back there, but next time I'd like to try taking an Amtrak. One of my favorite food places I went to in MTL, Romado's, a Portuguese chicken place closed recently though. Was bummed to see that. The food there was so good.

I haven't spent much time in Toronto though. I'm definitely curious to visit there too, have only heard good things about it.

PH, what's the game store that's only open on Sundays? I wasn't able to visit any game stores while I was there, but that sounds like it'd be fun.

Might as well say it. I live in Ottawa, not Toronto, so I dunno the video game scene in either Toronto or Montreal, especially since I went to last went to those places before I got back into gaming.

The best gaming store here is called TND Games. They're at a suburb very far away from the edge of the city, but it's almost worth the 2.5 bus trip. They do outdoor sales and they have huge markdowns, and they go to a "geek and gaming market" event that is much closer, and things are marked down too. It's usually march and October, so hopefully that biannual market will be back in October!

I need a drink…
On Hatteras Island there's one liquor store and it's closed on Sundays, and they're the only ones that sell anything stronger than wine and beer. Plus in NYC there's a wide variety of bars and such.

Thank God I don't drink, so it's not my problem. Plus anyone that goes home with me doesn't have to worry about me being too drunk to… you know. Thankfully I have too much sense to bang a drunk guy, despite probably not being able to hook up with a sober guy to save my life.

You didn't start the fire / It was always burning since the forum's been turning

I think REPO's doing okay. Given his circumstances, a lot of people get on Disability only to use their copious amounts of free time on the internet railing against immigrants or shadowy political forces for their lot in life. Instead, REPO works his ass off at thankless but useful jobs, and uses his meager amount of free time to sometimes post about the dream that keeps him going on an old retrogaming forum. This is aggravating for some; entertaining for others. Either way, it's one of the few things that gets this place going anymore, so I see it as a net positive for the world.
