tl;dr - I work in special ed. math and I think maybe a dice tower would help make math more "interactive" and less boring than me pretending to be excited about numbers before my third cup of coffee.
How the eff do you read percentile dice?
A regular d10 goes from 0 to 9 -> the one's place. I get that.
But I have a percentile die that goes from 00 to 90... I'm assuming that's ten's place but how would I roll a 100 on that?
Maybe this is a dumb question but I don't play tabletop games and I'd like to know how to use the percentile die so I can incorporate it into more lessons. Thanks, everyone.
Percentile Dice - how do I read them?
Re: Percentile Dice - how do I read them?
Here's what you need:
https://dicedungeons.com/blogs/inside/h ... -d100-roll
(although most folks I know "break the rules" and make 00-0 the 100)
https://dicedungeons.com/blogs/inside/h ... -d100-roll
(although most folks I know "break the rules" and make 00-0 the 100)

EVERYONE reads 00-0 as 100. Only that pedantic blog author does not.

In most cases I agree, but opa wants to use them in a special ed math class. The article I shared provides a method of reading them that is more consistent for using them in that context.
Re: Percentile Dice - how do I read them?
Thanks, guys.
Knowing how my kids are, I think 00-0 as 100 would be simpler to explain to them than how the article lays it out.

Re: Percentile Dice - how do I read them?
I also agree that 00-0 is 100. That's how we have always read them from a tabletop background, where a 0 roll isn't a possibility in most systems.
