What was the last movie you've seen?
Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
Rewatched A Nightmare on Elm Street 3. Still good.

watched that last week myself. i like the movie but thought it was about 30 to 45 minutes to long. actually fell asleep for about 15 min during lol. i think rami melek is a dam good actor but he seemed out of place in that role to me. for a minute i thought they were going the copy the movie "seven".

Whoa, Richard Epcar is in it. I didn't know he'd been doing Jigen lately.
Gunstar Green wrote:This movie is exactly what you'd expect, a fun and exciting adventure that leads to wacky situations full of likeable, emotive characters. Only this time it's in computer animated glory. The quality of the animation in the trailer is what really drew me in so I gave it a shot. It's really great seeing more studios, especially an anime one, really nail 3D computer animation like this. I know some purists might balk that it isn't traditional but it is the future of the medium, especially in the realm of motion pictures. If they can keep to the quality of this film then that future is a bright one.
The plot isn't going knock anyone's socks off but it is a cozy good time with at least a few surprises that caught me off guard. Definitely worth taking a look whether you're a fan of the character or not as Lupin films are always solid standalone experiences.

Rewatched REPO! The Genetic Opera, which is still one of my favorite musicals and I'm still PISSED that Lionsgate cut funding after a changing of the proverbial guard.
Hopefully we get a Broadway adaptation. I could see Sophia Caruso (Beetlejuice) as Shilo, Anthony Rapp (RENT) as Nathan and, if they can get her, former Nightwish frontwoman Tarja Tururen as Blind Mag.

Also watched Earwig and the Witch. It was an enjoyable film and the song from the film entitled "Don't Disturb Me" royally slaps.

The Relic. The cover has two thumbs up by Siskel and Ebert. Now I don't think I respect their opinion much.

Next short of the month:
Detour

A young, middle class couple get stranded out in the middle of nowhere and are picked up by an older, eccentric, socially awkward couple, who make them more and more uncomfortable as the evening progresses.
This is basically your standard 'stranded' psychological horror tale filled with yokel locals, but with a twist. At 25 minutes, it's a little longer than most of the other shorts I've watched, but it moves along at a good clip and has the benefit of a fairly solid ending.

The next short in Short Month:
Aftermath

Two brother struggle for survival in a new post-apocalyptic, predatory Ice Age.
I think the best comparison I can make to this short film is "The Walking Dead, but with more ice and no zombies." You don't learn anything about why or how we got to a new Ice Age, and instead the focus is all on how the two brothers cope with their new surroundings and interact with their fellow man. It's basically your standard "time to grow up now, son" except a lot more depressing. So nothing particularly new here theme or story-wise, but it sounds great and is quite lovely to look at. If you like that sort of thing, it's not a bad way to spend 20 minutes.
