Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

I've been thinking about picking up STALKER, but I've read that CS is still pretty buggy even with patches. Is SoC still the better version to get?

Basically yes. Besides you can get mods for the original game which include most of the improvements found in the sequel.

Hmm--guess I'll have to Ebay it. I can't seem to find a retail copy in Canada.

Ok, here's what you do. Buy STALKER, update to the latest version, then find the mod Oblivion Lost and install that. It basically adds all the stuff they claimed it would have, and fixes some of the bugs. Though a quick word of caution: it does make the game harder, so keep that in mind.

I didn't know where else to post this, but this is an interesting documentary about the disaster. Thousands died from mismanaging this catastrophe, and even some suicides, but Europe was fortunate a secondary explosion never happened. The "lore" behind Pripyat remains highly interesting, despite spoiled tourists "desecrating" the premises :?
