but why that song specifically

It's a very recognizable and distinct song and can't really be mistaken for anything else. It was also quite popular and omnipresent for a stretch of time. Rick Astley didn't really have any other hits, so his rather unique voice didn't get any exposure through other means. I mean, it's a great pick for a random song.

Some of those YouTuber channels are really making top notch episodes productions on par or superior to tv quality with extensive research put into topics. Some surprisingly work alone unlike LinusTechTip which is probably a professional team production. It show that everybody can contribute given the right tools, we don't have to wait for the "PROs" to show us the way. This is unheard of back in the 90s, just watch some old home made videotaping.

The freeloader ungrateful don't realize how much effort goes in creating one episode, I know because I used to do little web work as a hobby. I remember it took like an hour just to upload pictures to a server for a website. I mean, just how much it took to create 1 animation in the video?

Like all great mid-00s memes, it started on 4chan back in 2007. Someone claimed to have done it back in 2006, but it didn't launch the craze until 4channers started posting it.

It was a pretty funny phenomenon though. For a while there, even if you only occasionally watched videos on YouTube, you were bound to get Rick Rolled. I'm sure lots of people found it very annoying. I suppose I would be annoyed if I was trying to find info while in the middle of a project, but that was never the case so I was never really too annoyed be them. Then I read a comment on one of the videos and some guy was like, "Jokes on you, I like this song!" And it had lots of replies that were, "Me, too!"

Yeah, my girlfriend legitimately loves it. I've grown to like it myself, but I do enjoy cheesy 80s pop hits, so it wasn't difficult to do so.

Is there an easy alternative to imgur for image hosting?? Hate getting bombarded by the flashing gifs / cat pics / Trump Derangement Syndrome crap every time I visit.

There is a new tech. for p2p called Surge, it basically works like torrent except that it uses blockchain(whatever that means), open source, and anonymous. There is almost no files on it to share right now as its in extreme beta but it works I tried it.

I am not advocating for sharing copyrighted materials as I don't do it myself, but I am a fan of how bittorrent technology works(very solid, reliable, decentralized) and huge advocate of privacy online.

I browse some shops online and it just amazes me how much time they put into documenting each item they have. For example if its DVD they will tell you its condition, region, test if it work, and a little description not to mention take multiple pictures of it and upload with price setting and they will repeat this for each item. Some people have items in thousands.

I really don't think all this time wasted is worth $5-10 per item. Personally, sometimes I get exhausted after writing a single forum post.
