Looking for an unaltered Rondo of Blood ISO for PC-Engine

Post by Lodestar »

I've been trying to play this game since I hear it's one of the best Castlevania titles to date, and yet, I can't find it anywhere. I actually got ahold of one rip, but it was one of those dated conversions with the mp3 audio- that and it wasn't even operational...so, one of you kind fellows please give me the hook-up, preferably a perfect 1:1 rip so it doesn't have any audio sync issues.

Thanks.

If you have a PSP Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles can be had for less than $20.00. Its the definitive version of Rondo. And, as a major plus it has Castlevania SOTN on it as well happy hunting! If you don't have a PSP, Underground Gamer, Emuasylum and hundreds of other sites carry a good copy of the ISO. Google is a priceless friend when on the internet.

PLEASE run this game in either Mednafen or Ootake and avoid Magic Engine. ME is a good emulator, but Ootake and Mednafen are more accurate and sound and look better.

Oh, really? Thanks for the tip, I have Magic Engine because I heard it was the best, but I'll check those two out. I might have to use Ootake since Mednafen has no GUI. Anyway, I don't own a PSP so I can't play DXC (although I want to).

So, in response to the first poster here, Emuasylum doesn't have the game and UG does, but it's the same release I got off of Black-Cats that only seems to work if you burn it to an actual CD - otherwise it's an unrecognizable format. I need something that can be mounted with Daemon Tools or a similar program. As for the FTP site, I can only download one file at a time at about 30kbps, normally I'd just queue the up with DownloadThemAll but it won't let me, so I don't think I'll be downloading it from here, it's going to take a while considering how many files there are.

the win32 one is using mednafen with tweaks and a custom gui
that same torrent has a full iso
the ftp has it's limits disabled now and there's a new directory /cloneriso1file/

Are there any disadvantages to playing the win32 version? Is the audio quality not as good since it's not CD-based?

Also, there is a RAR in that directory as well as the individual files, which one do I want? Are those files included in the RAR? (The speed is the same, by the way)

The music in the win32 game is in 64-72kbps OGG and may have even been converted from the old iso/mp3 release. I didn't notice it skipping but the quality isn't that great.
My FTP has other accounts that are used regularly and my brother may be downloading torrents so the speed isn't good.
The rar file has all the files.
I'd guess that the file file "Dracula X - Rondo of Blood.rar" in that torrent has a complete ISO as it's file size is similar to the one I have.
