What's not to like? The fact that his pectorals have secret under abs, or that he's rocking those mom jeans?

Madman has been on my To Watch list for a couple of years now...

So...uh...were they alone? I mean, they THOUGHT they were alone, but were they? Really?

They WERE alone. It was just the three of them. Right?

The movie takes place at a camp, of which there seems to be only 6 children present. And considering how quickly the councilors ditched them to go traipsing about in the woods, they might as well have been.

New write-up of the week:

Suffer, Little Children

Image
That tagline up there is just dooming the film to fail.

A very dialogue heavy horror movie that's part Omen, part Children of the Corn, and 100% handmade class project. It's short, cheaply done and got into trouble for using a lot of unpaid child actors. It ends up being a quick and interesting little diversion...assuming you can make out what any of the actors are saying with the crappy microphones or ear-bleedingly loud techno music. But, hey, at least Jesus shows up at the end to save the day. So there's that.

The Invisible Man (2020) is a really solid adaptation/reimagining of the source material. Elisabeth Moss is, as usual, excellent, and the movie, despite being somewhat predictable, is really quite suspenseful. I enjoyed it thoroughly, and recommend it heartily. (It’s better than both the novel, which isn’t that great, and the 1933 film adaptation, which is pretty great, but not as great as the 2020 version.)

New write-up of the week:

Prom Night IV: Deliver Us From Evil

Image
I think a more accurate description would be: Deliver Us From Mediocrity

A religious themed sequel to the original Prom Night that doesn't actually take place at an actual prom. Instead it follows a demented priest staking a group of horny teens out in the country. It's one stand out is that it addresses themes of church corruption and molestation, easily making it the thematically darkest of the films, but like the first Prom Night it the end it winds up being just an 'okay' slasher'.

But I'll give it an A+ for it's use of a cool converted cross as a sword though.

New write-up of the week:

Invitation to Hell

Image

A creepy, yet slightly campy, Wes Craven directed made-for-TV horror flick. So it's a well directed, quaint 'suburbia is evil' film that's actually kind of fun until the final act and the horrible hokey ending. But hey, it has the beautiful Susan Lucci as a creep and campy Devil/Demon with impeccable fashion sense, so what's not to love?
