Nah, we got it right the first time.
Agreed. The music is just plain bad.

anyway. I look forward to this, should be fun to play on psn or live
Nopers. The music is fantastic and perfect for the title. Capcom knew what they were doing and it worked out fine. I love the jazzy jams and many others I have asked do too. Just because a large number of people on a message board say the music is inferior, doesnt make it a fact. Look at how many millions of morons buy mainstream big label music.

I know its not just this message board who has a problem with it and I am aware of what some critics have said as well, but I gotta say some of us actually enjoy it and always have. Does everybody else just hate jazz or something?

I don't know much jazz, but I know this isn't good jazz.

Nate I think the biggest complaint is the "Take you for a Ride" song. Very few I know like it after years of playing it. The actual stage music and the rest of the menus are ok, but that one song is just bad. I mean couldnt they have cycled songs for that screen, or done it quiet?

I agree to a certain level.....the songs are OK but nothing more(except for the one everyone hates hahaha). I think a lot of the songs aren't really fitting for a fighting game, and a fast paced one at that (probably the fastest i can thing of at the moment).

I don't think most people playing the game can hear the background music over the sound effects and tapping of buttons.

There's plenty of potential there for them to (ab)use this to their advantage.

Pay-for downloadable content to replace the music, in-game achievements to unlock better music, etc. Hopefully there's just the ability to replace tracks with anything you like (audio off your media centre, CD music, whatever).

It's such a colourful game. Why wouldn't it have a colourful soundtrack?

I don't even see how this can possibly be opinion. The soundtrack is awful. Just awful. The game has many blemishes, but this is the biggest one (well, aside from balance).

If the game is about fast paced action involving various superheroes, you expect the music to contain a lot of heroic tone to it, full of action and fury.

Like this:

This is the music that should have been in this game. Music that pumps you up. MvC2's music just put you to sleep, or made your ears bleed.

The music in MvC2 would be right at home with one of the cheap $10 PC games you see at Wal-Mart, probably with a name like "Elevator Tycoon" or "Lounge Superstar". Not only is it lounge/elevator music in a fast and furious fighting game, it is dreadfully bad lounge/elevator music in a fighting game.

MVC1's soundtrack had some nice midi tunes in it. They are what you'd expect from a superhero game.
You are basing your opinions soley off the tone of the instruments being played. MVC2's soundtrack is so damn uptempo.
Instead of going the stereotypical route, they composed some high-quality songs with a bright-vibrant tone. I kick some serious ass listening to this music, with a big smile on my face.
I'm sitting here baffled at the fact, that I'm one of the few that think that the soundtrack is totally appropriate.

I love metal music...but it isn't always the answer.

Thank you. Exactly how I feel. We adults love all kinds of music. You youngsters will most likely grow to appreciate good music someday as well
