Blazing Star is AWESOME!

Post by chipperkwah »

Oh man I just beat it on my supergun/one-slot mvs and WOW, that was a rush. I can't say enough good things about that game, the end boss was ridiculous, hell, every boss was cool. Anyone who hasn't played that game and likes shmups needs to get on it.

I've yet to play it for lack of the right hardware or a conversion cart. Pulstar is brilliant though (sequel)

Technically Blazing Star is the sequel to Pulstar. You can see it through Blazing Star being an enhanced version (more selectable ships than just the one).

Yes, a truly great shooter that borrowed a lot of obvious themes from other previously popular shooters, but manages to tweak them enough to be new and interesting.

I'm not normally a side-scroller fan, but this is one of my exceptions.

Great game, definitely the title that gets the most play in my cabs. Right now my best run is just under four million points and up to the fourth boss on one credit. My wife and I honestly go to war for top scores in this game.
