sega cd help

Post by metal_fire »

Recently i got a Sega cd off ebay :D. unfortunately it does not work :( . so i did some research online and found out most likely i need to replace the fuse. i tried to disassemble it before by removing every screw i could find in the back of it but it still didnt come off so i put all the screws back. Also i want to note that the metal "connector" plate is stuck on the Sega cd and i cannot remove it nor can i find any instruction on how to remove it.
So could any one please give me advice on what to do or a tutorial or something like that?

Well the connector plate just slides off, I own a model 1 and the only screw for the metal plate is connected to the genesis. What model is the sega cd? Is it a flip top or does the tray slide out? Cant help before we know this :D

Well Ive only taken apart one model 2 before, and that was a while back. Im pretty sure that metal plate just slides off. Its held on by hooks so you have to make sure that you are sliding the right way. Someone correct me if Im wrong.

This video helped me do it when I fixed mine.
Just be careful which power supply you use.
