Games Acquired:

Previous months:
January:
Kuukiyomi: Consider It Switch eShop - £2.49
The Firemen SNES - £76.31
Total: 2 games - £78.80

February:
World of Goo Switch - £34.19
Beat Saber PSN (PSVR) - £24.99
Total: 2 games - £59.18

March:
Sonic Advance GBA - £5.88
Rolan's Curse 2 Game Boy - £45
Shining Wisdom Saturn - £48.78
Rod Land Game Boy - £20
Amazing Penguin Game Boy - £17.50
Sonic Generations 360 - Free
Pikuniku Switch eShop - Free
Animal Crossing: New Horizons Switch - £44.99
Mario Party 3 N64 - £73.47
Total: 9 games - £255.62

I'd normally attend the regular London Gaming Market in March, but I couldn't go this month so I spent the money I would have online instead. As things go, I guess it turned out to be a good thing in the end because the week after is when the coronavirus stuff really kicked off and it probably was a good thing I didn't pack in close to a room full of nerds with questionable hygeine that weekend.

Anyhow, I'm happy with what I picked up. Rolan's Curse 2 is an intriguing and seemingly very rare Game Boy title, and Rod Land and Amazing Penguin are pretty nice and fairly uncommon games for the system too. I've continued trying to acquire all of the classic Shining games after being introduced to them last year with Shining Wisdom, leaving just Shining The Holy Ark in terms of western released Saturn games in the series.

Mario Party 3 was my last big want for the Nintendo 64 - there's still games I'd happily pick and up and play for the system, but I've now finally ticked all of my 'must have' games off the list for the console, which feels like a big moment.

Other than that, Sonic Advance I picked up because the auction was ending for cheap and I have both the sequels already. Animal Crossing has been my obsession for the past 2 weeks of being stuck inside. Pikuniku was down to like £1.50 on eShop and I used gold points to get it free, and Sonic Generations was given to me by a friend because he had 2 copies.

Being how the current situation is with Covid-19 and my job (not sure I'll have one by the end of May...) I won't be spending this much on games again any time soon most likely. Luckily, I've got plenty to enjoy already.

Markies' Games Acquired List Of 2020!

1. Fable: The Lost Chapters (XBOX)

3. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time/Master Quest (GCN)
4. Chameleon Twist (N64)

5. Gunbird 2 (SDC)

I added Gunbird 2 for the Sega Dreamcast this afternoon!

With my gaming convention closing down for the year, I realized that I wouldn't be doing as much normal game shopping in person compared to previous years. So, with that in mind, I decided to divulge a bit deeper in my eBay purchases. I didn't go full expensive in the Dreamcast category, but I decided to pick up a game that I have played that is a bit pricey.

I've played the Gunbird series up at my Pinball Arcade on the MAME machines and I have really enjoyed them. Psikyo makes some really Shooters, so I can't go wrong with them. It's been a while since I played a shooter, so I'm really looking forward to playing Gunbird 2.

April game pick-ups ...

11. Secret of Mana (SNES): I beat this game in 2017 on my SNES Classic for the first time, as I didn't own it when it was originally released. I became a big fan of the game, and binged through it when I played it. Since then I wanted to own the original cart, and saw one in a claim sale from a local game store. I was glad to support a local business affected by the crisis and I'd like to play through this again down the line.

12. Skies of Arcadia (DC): I've never played through this game before, and used May's Dreamcast theme for Together Retro as an excuse to finally pick it up. I'm looking forward to giving this game a go. Hopefully I can beat it within the month of May. I'm aware it's a long game, but with the extra time on our hands, I'm hoping I can get through it.

13. Gradius III (SNES): I went on a shooter binge this past month, and wanted to add a few more games from the genre to my collection. I ended up only grabbing this one in April, but well worth it IMO. I was able to finish the game on the easy setting, and really enjoyed it. This is a fun but challenging pick up and play title, and I'll definitely try to finish it again on a higher difficulty.

Streets of Rage 4 Switch eShop - £20.24
Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Mega Mix (plus expansion pass)Switch eShop - £50.49
Total: 2 games - £70.73

Not many purchases this month - I actually bought both of these today.

2 Sega franchises I'm very very fond of. There was no way I could wait until the physical release arrives later in the year to play SoR4, so I caved and bought the digital version too.

I'm also a big Project DIVA fan, so buying the new game was a no brainer. This was actually a pre-purchase, which is not something I'd normally do, but these games are basically the same throughout, and based on the demo, not much has changed here. It's more of the same, which is exactly what I was after, so it's hard to go wrong.
