Coronavirus pandemic - how are you affected?
Re: Coronavirus pandemic - how are you affected?
We were 61 yesterday. This morning it snowed big, fat snowflakes.

Everyone has to wear masks at work now. I feel like that's gonna scare the seniors seeing all of the servers wearing a mask.

While things can be a little jarring at first, I think we're all gradually getting used to stuff.
I know when I went to the grocery store last Monday, I was probably one of the 10% or less that was wearing a mask. I admit I felt a little like an odd ball.
8 days later, I went back to the same store at about the same time of day and I was one of the 90% or more wearing one. I'm sure those that didn't wear one felt a bit out of place and will probably wear one next time.

Grocery pick-up is available in my area so that's what I've been doing. Grocery store workers put everything in my trunk and I drive off without coming into contact with anyone. Granted you have to order a week in advance but it has worked well so far. As far as work goes, schools are out until the end of the month but we're thinking we'll just wind up closing. It is kind of stupid to stay distant for a month just to get back together and infect everyone.
Stay safe, everyone!
Stay safe, everyone!

Pixar. I'm an archives tech.
We've been fortunate so far and only a small percentage of employees have been furloughed. I know it's worse in other parts of the mouse empire. They say they're not expecting additional rounds of furloughs, but it'll probably be at least another full month before we can physically go back to work, so who knows? I'm glad they're not talking about layoffs at this point, though.

Howdy. Rough times with this stuff but luckily living on a farm means life hasn't changed much for my family and me. School's been called off for the kids, I have to call ahead of time to get let into some of the local farming businesses. Finally got our stimulus checks or whatever they are. Gas and diesel are cheaper than all get out so I pulled up an extra tank to stash some more diesel in for later on this summer. I heard a fellow a couple towns over tested positive for corona and then proceeded to go all about town. Folks were pretty upset about that and he may be looking at criminal charges. One thing to not be proud of, South Dakota is number one... for covid-19 in one location. Smithfield food packing plant.
