Ahhhh, returned to its former glory.

Now that you're done sprayin' it, it's time to start playin' it.

Oh, believe me, that SNES has seen a LOT of action, and will continue to see action until it stops working! I'm hoping the 62-pin replacement will become as easily available as the NES's 72-pin, I'm sure I'll be replacing mine some day.

You lucky bastard, you must have one of the later SNES consoles (the later ones seem not to yellow, from what I've seen). I had a second model 1 console that probably would have stayed grey, but I traded it years ago. Wish I hadn't, but what are ya gonna do? Now I got Flak's old SNES mini lol.

Thanks for the comments!

Nevertheless, yours looks good. Luckily my SNES is still original colored.
I've got about 4 Super NES systems slated for that treatment once I get a new security bit. I will take pics.
Don't ask me about the price ;)

Make sure you take pics of the whole process. Eventually we are all going to be in that position.

Nah, I'm lucky. Mine was produced later, so it's not yellowing at all. That said, I really like how yours came out Ziggy. I had contemplated getting another SNES and modifying it so that I could play Super Famicom games on it, and frankly, yours looks great. It'd be a great way to tell the two apart, and I'd have a SNES that looks downright sexy.

Awesome job.

Thanks, man. If you're going to mod a SNES to play SFC games, let me suggest...

If you're going to spray the system then you'll have it apart anyway, but if not, it's worth taking it apart to clean it. You could not believe the dust and whatnot that built up inside my system. I forgot to go into detail about that in my first post. When I opened my SNES, the first time it was ever opened, there was literally clumps of dust/hair built up inside.

But anyway, if you take the system apart the entire plastic cartridge slot detaches from the rest of the system making it much easier to break of the tabs (you don't have to worry about the pin connector being in the way, and you can also hold it in which ever way is most comfortable to get the job done). Also, every one says to use needle nose pliers. I used them to get the bulk of them off, but then I ended up using a very small flat head that was some what sharpened. I lightly hammered the flat head through the tab, easily detaching them. I used the same method for the tabs on my Game Genie.

In my opinion, the probably with the NTSC-U SNES is that it simply doesn't look good in many colors. Even with a perfect paint job, it just looks kinda off when it's an actual color, and I've yet to see it black and look good (though I was thinking about re-doing mine black).

If you do spray yours though, I recommend Krylon Fusion spray paint and nothing else.

How expensive was it to fix that corner. My crack is smaller but it still bothers me.
