Looks like the comment I left was deleted partway through the run - I think we were skipped on purpose - flagged as website advertising.

Well that sucks if true. And I really hope it isn't true. We could have used that $500 to advertise a lot better than a 1 second comment. But the fact is we didn't run a charity auction as a way to get advertising for the forum (this isn't even a for-profit website). We did it to raise money for a charity. I genuinely like the event and what they do. And that's why I hope this isn't true, because I would reconsider donating to them again.

Should we send them a message and ask why the comment was deleted? Some of us put in time and money (especially Anapan) to make this charity auction happen, which raised $500. And I think that is worthy of being recognized for.

Not a big deal IMO; donations made it to the right place.

I suppose you're right. I just don't want anyone thinking we were only doing this to get "free advertising". I mean, yes, we acknowledged that having a comment read during a stream would benefit the forum in some way (with no financial gain to be had). But that is a fringe benefit, and not why we are doing this. We have donated to several different charities in past years that had ZERO public recognition, and we were all OK with that (again, not why we do this in the first place). And we knew it would be a gamble if a comment would actually be read live or not, as we know they can't possibly read every comment during the live stream. I just don't want anyone thinking that the community did something that some people would find unsavory when it's completely untrue.

Anyway, anyone that won an item that I donated, you should expect a PM from me today with the tracking number and the packages should ship out tomorrow.

Thanks again to everyone involved!

I opened a box today, and found that things just kept pouring out of it. It was a bit like Christmas. Thanks so much, Anapan! I'm excited to see what the Game Boy Interface can do for GBA games on the Game Boy Player, and put my hands on a NeoGeo Pocket Color for the first time in about twenty years.

Thanks to everyone involved with donations, and all the work behind the scenes!

I've gotten my stuff in, too. Haven't tried all of it, but I have to admit, playing on a PC with an actual NES controller was pretty great. :)
