Well my GF made an attempt at getting me Radiant silvergun, but it was a bit pricey, so I opted for Psyvariar 2. I've had a 'Backup' for years and had put countless ours into it with a friend because if its unique buzz system. We called it spiderkiller at the time because the name was hard to pronounce and the second level spider boss was absolutely evil.
Graphically beautiful and tough as nails, how do you guys feel about Psyvariar 2?

Re: Psyvariar 2
I enjoy the game immensely. Out my Dreamcast shmup collection, I tend to play this the most. Buzzing is really fun once you get the hang of it. I find that I'm better off with a d-pad than a joystick in this game. The graphics are pretty descent too.
I don't play games, I experience them.
Re: Psyvariar 2
I just discovered this one (had somehow overlooked it so far). I love it. Graphics are real nice and I love the sound effects and music as well.
I have not yet mastered the buzz system... any tips?

So is it really a "just by chance" type of thing as far as building buzz, or do you actually put effort into "almost getting hit" (LOL). See how the idea sounds kind of silly on paper?
I just wondered if there was more to it or if you just dodge, shoot, and just happen to build buzz. It was a reasonable question actually

I always end up wiggling into bullets, I dislike the game because of it.
Re: Psyvariar 2
I hate it. I think it's one of the worst shooters I've ever played.
It's pretty enough but the game play mechanics are boring. I think the buzz system is a gimmick that hurts what could have been a great shooter.
If you are looking to own a real copy of a Dreamcast shooter I recommend Under Defeat, Border Down or Gigawing.

Under Defeat is awesome! It has the best explosions in a shooter ever.

Re: Psyvariar 2
Yeah, under defeat has great graphics. My fav is a tie between that and Zero Gunner 2
Re: Psyvariar 2
well after you get the thing rolling as long as your moving it stays rolling... even if its just forward or backward.
Psyvariar 2 has beautiful music as well.. I couldn't get into under defeat.
