Re: Rate the series - Resident Evil
Let's rate classic Mega Man, for simplicities sake we are just going to do the mainline games, since there were so many ports and sequels this could get way too messy so the games in question are:
MM 1-6 (nes)
MM7 (snes)
MM8 (ps1/saturn)
MM9 and 10 (whatever platform, they are all identical_
MM 11 (same as above)
Here is mine
1. MM 11: I just love this game and it is the perfect sequel and one of the best modern sequels to a classic series ever made. I loved it last year but didn't want to call it my favorite until I replayed it a few times, now that I have I can honestly say it takes the top spot for me.
2. MM 9: Best weapon set of the series (except for 11), great classic vibe, hard as nails. Although Wily's castle makes me want to smash my computer, I still think this is a top notch game
3. MM2: the most nostalgic game on the list for me, MM2 was the first game to truly blow me away with its large detailed mid bosses and incredible sprite work. Although the metal blades are definitley broken this game does so much right and is still a blast to play
4. MM5: a controversial choice but I just really enjoy this game, it definitely is on the easy side but it is fun to play and is my go to mega man when I just want to enjoy this style of game without challenging myself too much
5. MM3:
6. MM 1:
7. MM 4
8. MM6: ALthough 6 rates low on the list I still love this game. The rush suits are cool and the game is fun to play. If you never played a mega man game before 6 is the best place to start since it is extremely easy in comparison
9. MM7: solid game, the new big graphics are a bit offputting for me and it is not a game I have a strong desire to replay. It is fun but definitely not a classic in my mind
10: MM 8: see above, although the game gets points for its laughably bad voice acting it just feels off compared to other games in the series. I still enjoy it and will play it every so often but definitely one of the weaker entries in the series
11. MM10: the only game on this list I don't enjoy. It is hard, but it is hard for all the wrong reasons, the level design is annoying and there are many horrificly designed parts that have you just waiting for something before you can proceed. I will give this game another chance at some point but I just really do not enjoy it and when I do run throughs of the series I just replace this game with the far superior fan game mega man unlimited (which even though I did not rate it, it would definitely fall very high on the list if I did, easily in the top 3, possibly even bu number 1)

Re: Rate the series - Mega Man
Let's get some BGM going:
The NES Mega Man's are my favorite NES games ever. Beating out Mario, Zelda, and even Metroid for me.
Mega Man 3 has always been my favorite. It's bigger than MM2, introduces the slide, and the best red side character in the franchise:Proto Man.
You know what I'd dare to give MM2? I'd give it a 10, it's just a lower 10 than MM3's 10. MM2 is perfection and laid out the ultimate blueprints.
MM1 I didn't grow up on nor do I still love it, but I respect it.
I love MM4-6, they're all pretty easy though.
MM9 and MM10 are fantastic. I got ALL the achievements on these, including Mr Perfect.

MM11 was a solid return to form, but I missed Proto Man and Bass, the music wasn't S rank, and the Wily Castle was short. I want MM12 now...
Mega Man & Bass is far better than MM7-8 in my book and should never be overlooked. I consider it mainline. It was once unofficially dubbed MM9 back in the day...
MM8 is cool but some of the stages are too gimmicky and long. Gorgeous and fun game though.
MM7 is horrible, the only one I really hate. Mega Man's sprite is Godzilla sized feeling super off and only being able to shoot two buster shots on screen messes with me.
Hard to put these in much of an order outside of MM3 and MM2 being at the peak. I never replay one, I binge the whole saga. But after beating MM7 again when the Legacy Collection came out, I'm probably retiring that one for good. MM8 is low priority too. Like I said above, I'd much rather replay Mega Man & Bass.

Re: Rate the series - Mega Man
I had a chemical imbalance induced depression when Mega Man 11 came out while I beat it I didn't have a good first experience. I went back to it yesterday and It's like playing for the first time again, it's kicking my ass. Whoever designed Bounce Man's Level should be fired.

The definitive ranking:
Mega Man 2
Mega Man 3
Mega Man 9
Mega Man Powered Up
Mega Man 4
Mega Man 10
Mega Man IV
Mega Man
Mega Man V
Mega Man 8
Mega Man & Bass
Mega Man III
Mega Man 7
Mega Man 6
Mega Man 5
Mega Man II
Mega Man: Dr. Wily’s Revenge
Mega Man (Game Gear)
Mega Man & Bass (WonderSwan)
I haven’t finished Mega Man & Bass (WonderSwan) yet, but I have played enough to know it’s horrible. (Only the last three games in the list are bad, IMO.) I also have never played Mega Man 11, Mega Man (DOS), Mega Man III (DOS), or Mega Man: The Wily Wars. Finally, I did not include any of the games that aren’t platformers (e.g., Mega Man Soccer, etc.).

Mega Man 3

Mega Man 4
Mega Man 10
Mega Man IV

5 and 6 are too low. 8 is too low. 4 is too high and Bass is too high

Anybody that includes Mega Man 8 that high needs to reevaluate their priorities.
Because fuck Clown Man.

Re: Rate the series - Mega Man
Clown man is easy just tornado hold until asplode.
Also Mega Man 8 Saturn and Playstation versions as well as English and Japanese would have different placements.
I wish Tier List would have included the X, Zero and ZX games so I had more stuff to rank.
Those games rank very differently than Classic Mega Man.
X Series
X1
X4
X2
X3
Both Gameboy games
X5
X8
X7
X6
