I added Super Baseball Simulator 1,000 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System this evening!

Every so often, the Backloggery does a marathon either for a charity or to raise funds for the site. I have no problem supporting the site every so often as it has become an important part of my life.

Last summer, they had another Marathon and I was chosen randomly for a prize because I had donated. After looking at the list, I noticed that the site creator had put up Super Baseball Simulator 1,000.

I own and adore the NES version, so I was curious about the SNES version. I then saw that the SNES fixed the issue of skipping COM Vs. COM games in the original that would take like 20 minutes. So, I decided that it would be worth it for a "free" game just to give it a shot.

I added Growlanser: Heritage of War for the Sony Playstation 2 this evening!

There are two small chains of retro game stores that also sell a ton of DVD's, CD's, Board Games and other little Geekery stuff. Depending on the store, they have good selections and the prices are a bit higher, but nothing too terrible. They are fun to check out every now and then.

Last fall, I was trading in a DVD for store credit and I was looking around for a game to buy. This particular store, the inventory hadn't changed very much and I was running low on prospects. So, since I was in doubt, I went to the PS2.

I found the next Growlanser game that piqued my interest. I had played the first one of the Generations collection and really loved, so I decided to get the next one instead. I didn't realize there was a special edition of the game until I checked later that evening, so I went to ebay and bought a sealed version of the game.

I then exchanged the first version for a Board Game. The nice thing about the store is that finding something to trade in can be very easy.

Markie, nice choice on Super Baseball Simulator 1.000! I actually have never played the NES version, but I traded for the SNES game as a kid, and still have it in my collection. This is probably my favorite baseball game. Back when I was in college, I brought it to our dorms, and we'd play against each other in the evenings. This game's a blast, IMO.

Yeah, I always had the NES version as a child. My older brothers love NES sports games, especially baseball games, so we had a ton of them. Baseball Simulator 1,000 is one of the better ones to play except for the annoyance of the season mode taking forever to play.

I've never played the SNES version and I've always preferred NES baseball games, probably for nostalgia sake. So, I'll be curious how this one works.

I added Threads of Fate for the Sony Playstation this evening!

With my favorite video game store closing last year, I've moved onto a new favorite game store. It's an old standard around here that has been around for 20+ years. They are very hit and miss when it comes to selection, but they have good prices and excellent trade values.

They have a very large Facebook presence, so I make sure to check on them rather regularly. Last Fall, I was surprised to see that they had brought in a large selection of PS1 and PS2 RPG's. So, after a niece's birthday party, I decided to take some extra time and pay them a visit.

Threads of Fate immediately drew me in as I'm slowly collecting all of the Square games on the PS1. My friend had played it for a bit and enjoyed it. It was always a game that I wanted to try, but I never could find it. So, when I saw that the store had a copy, I decided to pounce on it when I had a chance.

My man. That's actually my favorite Squaresoft game on the PSX. (I'm also very fond of the Japanese title: Dewprism.)

I ordered a copy of Kirby's Pinball Land from an eBay seller. Employed my usual method of looking for the cheapest BIN option that was in acceptable condition. Today, this is how the game arrived:

Also, it has a new save battery. Amazing.
