My eyes! My eyes! It burns!

More seriously though, I was about to paint one of my SNESes black (to match the TV, Gamecube and Megadrive) but now I'm having second thoughts.

A paint job can turn out very well. You just have to do your research first and take it slow and proper.

Yeah and use spray paint. If thats not an option you really have to be good, and use a very fine brush, and put it on in thin coats.
The main question here is, do YOU like the paint job? If you like it and think its cool, thats all that really matters. Who cares what we all think.

I'm trying to not be rude here, but that looks awful.

It looks as if you started another coat before the original coat dried completely causing it to peel and clump. What kind of paint did you use?

I suggest you find a replacement case and try again. Try Krylon Fusion paint for plastic, disassemble the whole thing and paint the parts individually. Thin light coats and allow it to dry completely before adding another coat.

Out of those, the PSone. Dont hurt the toploader. Even if it was yellowed I would vote to not paint it, there are just to few out there.

If he likes the paint job, he really should care what we all think, because his taste is objectively dreadful.

That makes me wonder. Is there any good way to strip the paint off a console?
