Awww, yeeeeah! That game is legit. The presentation is a little on the simpler side, but it's a really fun game. If you haven't played Terranigma yet, you still haven't played the best game on the SNES! Don't miss out (once you're done with Soul Blazer, of course)!Markies wrote:I started Soul Blazer

Terranigma is my next game in the series.
I'm doing them out of order, unfortunately, since I started Illusion of Gaia first.
But, I have full intention of playing Terranigma eventually!

I love how different the three games are.
Soul Blazer = hack and slash, almost Gauntlet-like
Illusion of Gaia = Zelda-type action adventure
Terranigma = big epic "true" ARPG, Secret of Mana vibes

Re: What RPG are you playing right now?
I started Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance on the Nintendo GameCube this evening!
This is my very first Fire Emblem game!
I have been preparing and hyping this game for so long. My Random Cookie Marathon basically led up to this game and I kind of feel like all of the SRPG's I have ever played has led me up to this game.
I turned on the game and it was utterly fantastic. It felt like a game I should have played years ago because of how at home I felt. It was so comforting. I then do a map and one of my characters dies and I remember that it is still Fire Emblem. I cannot wait to play some more of it as I am ready to start my Fire Emblem journey.

Congratulations on checking out your first Fire Emblem, Markies. I look forward to hearing more about your experiences with the series.

I think Path of Radiance will be my toe in the water game. If I really like it, then I will continue on in the series.
After that, I might either do the handheld route or I might go backwards and start all the way back at the beginning. It's rather hard to decide where is the best starting point with the franchise or even where to continue.

They get better and better, though Soul Blazer is still very good. I still have the soundtrack stuck in my head after all these years.BoneSnapDeez wrote:I love how different the three games are.

Re: What RPG are you playing right now?
I started Phantasy Star III on the Sega Genesis this evening!
My introduction to Phantasy Star was through Phantasy Star Online on the DreamCast. Afterwards, I got a proper introduction and played Phantasy Star II. There were parts of the game I really enjoyed, but it felt very much like a Dragon Quest grindfest too much of the time.
It has been a while, so I figured it was time I continued the Phantasy Star train and play the third one. I have heard some mixed reviews about the game and I can understand their points. The main character walks so slow and the first couple of notes for the battle music is awful, which is really disappointing as the music was my favorite part of Phantasy Star II.
But, I am highly intrigued by the child and choosing your wife mechanic. Also, the graphics have improved as well even though it still feels like a less powerful game. I am intrigued and interested, so I want to play more. But, so far, it hasn't wowed me, but I haven't been revolted by it either.

Parallel playthrough! I’m playing PSIII right now too. It hasn’t wowed me yet either, but it’s pretty relaxing at least. Not too grindy, either. We’ll have to compare notes!
