SegaXtreme is closing...

Personally, I think this is borderline retarded. They need to at least keep the forums open. There's a ton of useful technical info in there. I fondly remember when they guided me on how to update the firmware in my Saturn Action Replay. It would cost almost nothing to sustain the forum.

Racketboy used to be a main contributer there. I am curious how he feels about this.

Hmmm, I'll be talking to somebody over there.
Maybe I can work on hosting at least the forums.
I'd hate to see it go.

I'm waiting on getting my new password (stupid new forum system)....

Well, it looks like they are going to keep most of it alive.
They are just trying to scrap together $160 for a vBulletin license.

I may have spambots, but long live opensource :)

I put some many hours into that site... (7,645 posts on there)
And if it wasn't for them, I probably would haven't never done this site.

Definately SEGA to the extreme. The customization of the forums is nice.

It used to be great, but it has died down a lot.
It's mostly good for more technical discussions.
We used to have more casual conversations and such, but I think we've captured a lot of that feel here.

Lordofduct was a pretty active member over there as well.

And with a 10 minute mod you can get rid of them forever...

tbh, they are kindof entertaining. But that may just be from my angle. Even so, when the forums are slow, at least it gives an admin something to do :?

Ah shit! This is what I get for not going there that much anymore.

I need to talk with Ice or something and see if I can down on backing up all that info. Damn good memories over there! It's actually how I meet Racket.

--------------

Looks like dibz is trying to get donations to keep the forums alive. I'll definately toss up the money for that... 75 bucks towards a forum I've been at for over 5 years is no sweat off my back.

Ice has been gone for a while -- Dibz is keeping it running.
