BogusMeatFactory wrote: For me, the BIGGEST reason is its most unique feature. Not a single game does this and it is the prime reason to play the game... It's unified local multi-player world. What this means is sharing the game locally with friends and family to build the town together, with each of you having your own home and changing the world. There is nothing more awesome than playing the game to see my wife has planted a huge flower garden, or see the road system she built. To get letters from your friends with gifts of things they know you want. This is the real magic of the game for me. That shared creative space on a local and intimate scale.
Wait... That does sound intriguing.
BogusMeatFactory wrote: The biggest draw for me is that I am very excited for my daughter to play this with me. It will be a great tool to help her read and will allow me to interact with her in cool ways. I can make scavenger hunts for her, send her coded messages and design cool little games in the town for her. This stuff is very exciting for me. It also is a great snapshot of my life. I remember reading a story about someone whose dad passed away and they visited his town to help remember him, to read letters he sent to them to let them know he loved them... That is such a heartwarming story that stuck with me.
This also sounds great. Maybe I was too dismissive.

I wonder if we'll get any new Smash characters announced tomorrow. I imagine at the very least we'll be seeing more information on Joker as a fighter.

I think that they will announce the new character alongside a new game in the series or port that the new character is featured in.

All right, I got to try out the Switch over the weekend, and now I want to pick one up for my birthday. So now I need game recommendations. What are the ten must plays that you guys think an Ack like me would be into? Physical releases only for now. I'll figure out digital releases later, but for now I've been having a tough time finding a good list of solely physical releases.

+1

The 3rd party Smash characters are totally setting up new games on the Switch for their respective series. I would be absolutely shocked if there were nothing Persona-related, let alone a port of Persona 5, coming in the near future that is announced alongside Joker details.

Breath of the Wild, smash bros Ultimate, and Mario Odyssey, because you would be dumb not to get the best games of each respective franchise ever.

Dragon Quest Builders is one of my personal favorites because there is nothing more awesome than Akira toriyama art, minecraft and dragon quest. Insanely fun.

Mario and Rabbids Kingdom Battle is Mario Xcom and it is insanely fun, full of color and personality and the Rabbids do not make you want to smash your face in.

Octopath Traveller is a beautiful jrpg with an engaging combat system that feels good and never feels monotonous.

Donkey Kong country tropical freeze because it is legit the best donkey Kong country game ever made.

Yoku's Island Express is an awesome pinball metroidvania featuring a dung beetle. Do you need anything else?

Super Mario Party is insanely fun, with game modes that don't feel tacked on and awesome boards and mini games. Definitely a back to form return to awesome.

Snipperclips deluxe is an awesome coop puzzle game that is a very unique feeling game that is great to play with a friend. So good!!!

Breath Of The Wild is a must. Octopath Traveler is amazing.

Um, um, um... I want to make Ack a really strong list because there's a ton of stuff on Switch I know he'll love.

If you say the original 3 on snes are better.. You are mad. Beating those for the first time a few years ago and it is a aaaaallll nostalgia for folks. Bad hit boxes, floaty controls and hodge podge level design.

Oh man, I love you Bogus, but this opinion lives up to the name bogus dude. The DKC trilogy on SNES are amongst the best platformers ever made. Especially the third one.
