I played SF3 solely on my stick. So that's probably why I just can't get SF4. Why oh why are there no sticks under £100 for these systems?! The Hori Arcade Pro is £130 the MadCatz Fight Stick is over £200!! It's nuts. I can't afford to pay that for an arcade stick, especially not for just one game.

Even then I still don't want to buy it for PS3. I think I'm just going to have to wait until it comes out on PC.

The MadCatz fightpads are the next best thing for 360 and they go for silly money, especially for a wired pad... You're looking at £70+ on ebay. Why doesn't Capcom just release their own pad or at least kick MadCatz ass about it. How many people are waiting for a decent controller before buying this game? The availability of these controllers is a fucking joke in this country. I've NEVER seen one in a shop. No store knows when they are going to get them in, if ever. The only option is to pay ridiculous prices importing or buying from ebay. Gah!

So I'm out of the loop on the SF4 pads. Was there only an initial run? I thought about buying one but passed because A) I'm not playing any SF right now and B) I thought I could get one later at any time. Is the second-hand market the only way to get one now??

The odd thing is that the other GS in my town has had a Blanka 360 pad for forever. People always come up to it, look at it stupidly, bitch about how it doesn't have analog sticks and walk away. If anybody's interested I could see about grabbing it for someone on here for a trade if my paycheck isn't crap again (I hate working for GS).

From what I understand Mad Catz can't keep up with the demand for a decent control method for a fighter on the two modern consoles. The 360 controller is complete ass, and the PS3 isn't much better.

played in a local tourney last night and made it to round 3 winners bracket. Dropped 2 in a row after that. This one guy was a beast of a Balrog. He was focus canceling TurnPunches (TAP) into EX Headbutts really late in the TAP then juggling into Ultra. Very, very ill. He had a really sick mix up game as well, nowhere to block no where to hide.

Time to get bettter, learned a few things from the losses and did a few nice things in the wins. It was interesting to see other players with Madcatz TE sticks losing in the first round. What was really crazy was seeing normal Xbox controller players that kicked ass and made it further than me. Its all execution.

SF4 hype made people who never cared about arcade purity buy a stick. The result is that, people looking like posers.

Yup. There's nothing that says you can't be phenominal on the 360 pad. It just requires a hell of a lot more work.

PC version supposedly drops in May in Japan. US/EU versions soon after...Ill probably just import it, unless the US sticks are quality/modable.

well the Hori HRAP 3 for 360 and PS3 are decently priced ($90 - 100) and are pretty good stock, and the ps3 version is also PC compatable so its worth it

And the backlash kicks in... SF4 has finally got me into SSF2HDR - got fed up with the Ultras and switched HDR, and then realised how sloppy my hadouken inputs had gotten playing SF4, became obsessed once again with SF2, and now SF4 gathers dust... I just recon SF2 is a better game...
