Hey everyone. I was wondering if there is anyone out there having a hard time finding a job? I am graduating in May with a BS in Chemical Engineering, and every year prior there were no issues finding jobs, but this year I cant find one for the life of me. Is anyone else having the same problem?
Also, how many people have dramatically cut back spending on games and systems since money got tight? I just made my first purchase in months and I probably should not have, but I need something to stay busy!

Re: Recession Woes
I mostly buy games with money I make from fixing computers. Since people dont want to buy new computers currently, dont know why there are great deals to be had, I have made quite a bit recently.
But I am begining hate my current job and would leave it I could, but like you said, jobs are tight across the board.

Re: Recession Woes
I was fired recently and really don't have money for anything, let alone gaming. It's been really tough to find a job, but then again, that's always hard in Brazil.
Re: Recession Woes
Currently I'm in school, so I likely won't begin hunting for a real job for a few months. In the meantime however, I do have to start looking for a little summer work, that's not going to be fun.
Re: Recession Woes
Yeah, times are tough man. I'm a graduate student, so I rely on teaching assistantships (TAs) and research assistantships (RAs) to cover my tuition and to provide a stipend for me to live off of. Well, everybody is having a hard time getting their research studies funded these days, so the RAs are hard to find and the University of Washington where I'm at just saw HUGE cuts to their budget, so they are hiking tuition several thousand dollars per year and slashing out a lot of the TAs. I'm fine for a few months, but I may be out of a job by summer quarter and I might have no way to cover my tuition by Fall. I have a masters degree already, so I think I could find a job on the market, but I'm afraid that I might not finish my PhD because there won't be money to do it.
