banana diet
Re: banana diet
Hey, to each his own, Yankee. I had an experience in New York where I asked for it and they'd never heard of it. When they offered to bring me iced tea and artificial sweetener, I asked for water.
Not everywhere loads that much sugar into it, though some places do it more than others. Some restaurants will really mix it up, trying different types and amounts. If you really want to die young, try Milo's. It's diabetes in a jug. They make that stuff with syrup. You can't see through it.
On a funny note, sweet tea was originally designed for green tea, though mostly it's served with black tea now.

Yeah up north most places try to shove a diet coke, caf. free coffe, and artificial sweetener in your face all the time.
Down here in the south though I like that 1.) The barbeque is real barbeque, and 2.) I loves me some Cheerwine.

Re: banana diet
drinking tea straight... that is something my wife loves, but I just can't get used to it. Weird since I don't put much sugar or honey in it when I do drink it. Less than a packet of sugar, but it just gives it a little something extra. Of course, we buy the CHEAPEST tea ever made. I think it's like Lipton's or something.Ack wrote:I mentioned coffee because of the caffeine, which is something I've been struggling to cut out, but as I said, tea is a weakness of mine, especially sweet tea. Hey, I'm Southern, got it?
I do purchase caffeine-free tea to drink at home, and I don't load it with sugar whatsoever when I drink that, but that's unfortunately not sold in too many restaurants down here.
I would be interested in finding out what is a good tea.

Am I the only one that still remembers Brisk? I once shotgunned a six pack when I was like twelve during a Starfox 64 session. That was the best iced tea in a can ever PERIOD.RyaNtheSlayA wrote:Celestial Seasonings for the win!vash23n wrote:drinking tea straight... that is something my wife loves, but I just can't get used to it. Re: banana diet
I remember Brisk. Mostly because of the commercials that had the claymation Frank Sinatra, who would throw out the catchphrase "That's Brisk baby!" My dad latched onto that and it became his drink of choice for many years.Mod_Man_Extreme wrote:Am I the only one that still remembers Brisk? Re: banana diet
I was at a burger place in NY and ordered "tea," expecting them to understand that I wanted iced tea. The waiter said "you want hot tea with a burger?" and then after I explained he went on to suggest that I must be from Texas, which coincidentally I am.Ack wrote:Hey, to each his own, Yankee. I've stopped drinking anything but herbal tea since, but I've recently discovered a good udon place in Toronto that serves free hot tea with their meals--it's good stuff.
Re: banana diet
Brisk is sooooo not representative. It's still pretty good when you're looking for a refreshing beverage though.
My fav's for tea definitely include bojangles and hole-in-the-wall mom&pop joints...also, chinese and mexican restaurants tend to make really delicious sweet tea.
I once had sweet tea in mexico that was made with syrup. Stuff looked wierd, but tasted devine.
