GoG - Jill of the Jungle Trilogy

JILL OF THE JUNGLE TRILOGY -- FREE! Not sure if this is forever or just for now, grab it. This was one of the very early Epic Games platformer releases of really high notable quality, in the era of Commander Keen she was just as memorable and perhaps a bit more fun.

I missed this game when I saw Epic hit the store with Jazz, Epic Pinball, and a few others. This along with Solar Winds and Silverball were on my short list of sadly missing stuff. I've not played this since the early 90s, hope it aged well. :D

Now of they can get Castle of the Winds, Dare 2 Dream, and Ken's Labyrinth, I'll have all the stuff I used to play on my old Epic Mega Games demo disc. Glad to see Jill hasn't been forgotten.

While they didn't make it, I'd love to see Into the Eagles Nest. It was on this CD I got with my Headstart 500 PC Christmas of 1990. I wish I could figure out what the name of that CD was and I'd be on ebay every day looking for it to hopefully pop up again so I could buy and DOSBox it. There were many things on there I really enjoyed through 1991-92 or so until I started getting retail stuff.

Thanks for the heads up on this! I'd seen it come up on the GOG homepage but hadn't realized it was available for free.

Played around with these games for a bit. I figured they'd be straight platformers but they're really more like Metroidvanias it seems.

Gotta configure the controls to get this working well with my gamepad. How did people play this shit back in the day? Keyboard controls are miserable and those old PC joysticks weren't exactly pleasing either.

Good stuff. This brightens my day; GOG.com is currently having a sale but literally nothing on my wishlist is discounted.

And yet was the best option available at the time by far.
