Project Warlock launched a few days ago, i've purchased it day one and i'm having a blast.
If you're into vintage fps like Hexen, DOOM, Blood, Wolf3d and the likes you own to yourself to give this game a try, the fast paced and weight of the gameplay REALLY stands out, on top of that the rpg progression raises the replayability since each weapon has two way to evolve.

is this the one developed by that one young kid? I feel like I read about it recently. The art style really stands out.
Yes that would be the one, someone who didn't grow up in the 90s playing this stuff, without rose tinted stupidity in the way appears to have created a piece of mastercraft of the era few since have come to approach. I keep meaning to buy it, just haven't yet, but read up a lot.
yeah it looks pretty gorgeous. I call it'll be announced for Switch before the year's over. And um... it'll get a Limited Run Games announcement in early 2019.

I hope to buy The Messenger when it goes on sale. Been waiting for Bloodlines to go on sale for the longest time as well. The thing I like about some of these modern retro games is that they are cheaper to purchase, you can experience them in 5-6 hours, then replay them or move on. I remember some of the older NES games would draw out the process by making you back track a lot, or they would put in a completely ridiculous puzzle you would spend hours solving (i.e. kneeling on a block for several seconds so a tornado will take you to a different part of the level). I just don't have time for that anymore. That's why games like Shovel Knight are right up my alley.
Welcome to the forum, ralphyua. Stick around. We have a good group of people here with very few trolls.
I'm a big fan of Shovel Knight too. I imagine that most of the gamers on this forum probably like Shovel Knight a lot.

Thanks for the welcome. Good to hear that the trolls are at a minimum.
I'm also a fan of Hollow Knight, but I'm not sure if that counts as a "retro" game because of the animated graphics. Personally, I put it into the retro category because the gameplay reminds me of something I would have played when I was a kid such as Strider or Shadow Dancer. I keep wishing that the original Shinobi will get released on Steam, but it hasn't happened yet. Has anyone here played the Messenger and made a comparison to Ninja Gaiden? As a kid, I must have beat Ninja Gaiden thirty times. The first one was just so special to me.
Almost forgot to ask. Does anybody know of a good Zelda style game on Steam? I'm talking about the original Zelda where you get a 3/4 top down view of the world. Most of the good retro stuff I have seen lately has been 2D side scrollers.
