I'm surprised to see so many say the PS2. I always thought the PS2 was the best (not my favorite) console as the platform has games for every taste. I was rather disappointed with the PS Vita/TV. I bought one at GameStop on impulse for about thirty bucks with the intention to bypass the whitelist and have access to the entire PS Vita library on the PS TV. I performed the hack and started to look at the system exclusives. Most of them are weeaboo JRPG games that are a country mile away from my tastes. I looked at the non-exclusive games hoping that there were PS4 ports that I can play. Unfortunately pretty much everything I found interesting was already released on PC, my preferred platform. There is Gravity Rush, which I still haven't gotten around to buying. Also, I hate Uncharted. I'm disappointed with its app compatibility as even with the whitelist hack it can't run Netflix. This thing was meant to be a PlayStation set-top box and it doesn't support Netflix? No wonder why this thing failed. I learned the hard way to research a console's library before buying hardware. I just never needed to do that before.

Nah, it's F-Zero. ;)

I don't think that'll happen anytime soon as that console is rather difficult to emulate.

There was Mega Man 64. *shrugs*

I don't think one can be disappointed by a library that demands low expectations.

Plus Jaguar had Alien vs Predator and Tempest 2000.

Pretty much this.

To expand on the Jaguar thing, you're unlikely to find anyone in this thread (or elsewhere) who bought the system at launch and in turn was devastated. It just didn't sell well.

Most of us who own one didn't purchase it until well after its lifespan, when it was a well-known failure with a smattering of good games. So, we went in with expectations in check. It isn't a great system, but I knew what I was getting into. Same goes for the PC-FX, CD32. and so on...

Actually the one thing in perspective that sometimes bothered me was the sheer amount of video games. I saw relatives who had more than 20/40+ games and I had was 4 Genesis games eventually got Sonic 3 for cheap after 2 years later. I basically rented my Sega games at Blockbuster and others. Eventually my collection grew better. Other cousins had unopened Xbox games, they are into gaming/collecting but I rarely see them.

Ooooooohhhh! I got one that I bought and was dissappointed in! I think it classifys as a 3rd gen console, but it's more of a console/Pc hybrid. The Atari XE. I bought it a few years back after I over hyped myself watching Classic Game Room with Lord Karnage. I did have fun with the one game I really wanted to play, think it was Blue Max? Think Zaxxon but WW1. But other then that, I was pretty dissappointed in myself :P Like I never got Mario Bros for it cause at the time that was going $100 loose. I could have tried digging deeper into the library, but wasn't feeling it. These days I have to stick with 4th gen or newer, the exception being Sega Master. I try not to let a youtubers love for something influence my buying habits anymore, but Game Sack and HappyConsoleGamer did get me into the Phantasy Star and Ys series.

Otherwise I don't have your guys disdain for the ps2 since I love RPGs and Fighters. Wii I hate Motion controls but Wii Mario Kart is my 2nd favorite racer behind Double Dash on GCN. N64 had Ogre Battle 64 atleast with Mario 64, Bomberman 64, and Banjo Kazooie. Gamecube probably has the most complete collection of Zelda games with the GBA player addon. But I will come out and say that a console I'm even more dissappointed in with it's library is the Xbone. Anytime they get an exclusive Microsoft also ports it to PC. That's if they don't cancel it or delay it :P

I think the one that comes to mind immediately is the Nintendo WiiU. I had extremely high hopes for it being (in my eyes) the console version of the wildly popular DS (series) but ultimately fell flat on it's face due to the limited library and games focused on gimmicks  .

I know, a 90s Commodore platform with no Turrican game is sad.

I can genuinely say that there’s not one single Odyssey^2 game that I enjoy in the whole library.

But god, that box art is sweet!

Have you played them all, or are you just going off data like video, descriptions, and screenshots? A quick look at the Wiki for the Odyssey^2 library shows 108 games. It'd be impressive if you have actually tried them all.

Nah, I’ve played about two dozen. They’re all very same-ish. The rudimentary computer can only produce so much variety. The keyboard feels like a speak-n-spell. Oh, and the sound is terrible to start with. Try adding on the voice synthesizer module = pure migraine fuel.

If there’s any person in this forum (or anywhere else) that has played every Odyssey^2 game, they must be a masochist. Doing nothing at all would be a better use of your time.
