I got an email about it today. Apparently ChaseTheChuckWagon.com now owns GameGavel.com, and is attempting to incorporate it into their site.
Here's the note I got on it from the CTCW mailiing list:
As of last night ChaseTheChuckwagon.com has acquired competing video gaming auction site GameGavel.com. Jasen Hicks, the owner of GG has not been able to give the attention needed to keep his site going in the direction he wanted so we negotiated a buy out of his domain name. In a few days GameGavel.com will be redirected to ChaseTheChuckwagon.com and his website will be shut down. It is my intention to continue co-branding both names, so pick the name you like and go with it. This should also go along way to bringing in a more diverse group of gamers, as GameGavel.com is a more "universal" name than ChaseTheChuckwagon.com.
For all existing ChaseTheChuckwagon.com members this is a very good thing as we will reap the benefits of 15 months of GameGavel.com links and threads floating around the net that will now point to us. I am hoping this will help aid our growth and continue our efforts to become the best place to buy and sell games.
Personally I had never used GameGavel.com, so this doesn't really affect me, but I have been checking ChaseTheChuckWagon.com, and I recently made my first purchase. It's a bit different from eBay, but the seller was a good guy and it made for a great experience. Plus, I now own one more Nintendo 64 fighting game. I've only got four more to go to own them all(and only two more to get all the ones released in the US).
Chase The Chuck Wagon just bought out Game Gavel.
Re: Chase The Chuck Wagon just bought out Game Gavel.
Good for them. I recently bought a near-mint CIB Genesis off Chase the Chuck Wagon (for $33 shipped!). While the buying process was a little unorganized due to a minor mistake on the seller's part, So Cal Mike - the site's owner - responded to my email on the same day and helped take care of the issue immediately.
It was a good experience. If the inventory of the site improves, I may just be able to swear off ebay all together.

Re: Chase The Chuck Wagon just bought out Game Gavel.
The site is really clumsy and I really hope it improves.
I just got a very cheap disc only copy of Resident Evil 3 for the PSX, but after I had won the item I let a few days pass before paying because I was bidding on another item from the same seller.
(1) I did not win the second item and was never alerted.
(2) Once I was able to navigate to the page for the item I had won I had no difficulty in paying, but the layout for the auctions you have won does not seem organized. The categories for Buying Tools are My Messages, My Offers, Bid Tracker, Invoices for Purchases. Why not just have an area where I can see my won auctions, I guess that is Invoices for Purchases, but the layout is still clumsy.
(3) Since I was late paying for the item, I wanted to contact the seller, to let him know I had made the payment and apologize for the delay. I did not see an easy way to contact the seller. The only way to view my won items is in Invoices for Purchases, but viewing the invoice does not have a link for something like "send seller an message regarding this item." It is now after the fact that I see the ask seller a question option at the bottom of the listing for the actual item, but even that wasn't apparent when I was quickly looking for it. Ultimately I had to view the seller's account then send an email, which probably doesn't have the item name listed in the title.
These may seem like small gripes, but the website is still a little disfunctional. If I can save a little I may shop there, but the competition on half.com and amazon.com, not to mention ebay.com usually has low price listings if you look around.
So, I'll check it every now and then and I hope it improves.

I agree with these issues, I noticed them too. But SoCal Mike seems like a decent guy, so I'm sure he's heard about it and is considering ways to clean it up a little.

Ya, the site is and always will be a work in process. I think if you get used to it, it becomes a little easier. To contact a seller simply click on their username which is usually along the right side of any auctions they run. It will take you to their home page and also give you a link to email them.
Don't forget if you ever have any issues or problems you can always email me directly at [email protected] or join our forums and ask questions there. It's turning into one of the best forums around

Well, I am glad you were able to read my feedback, and from reading other threads I know you are dedicated to making the site grow. If I have time I will play around with the site more and give you more detailed feedback in terms of layout. For your consideration anyways.chasethechuckwagon wrote:Hey all, molotovwars wrote:The site is really clumsy and I really hope it improves.
