I can not wait to put time in training mode with Mr. Game & Watch and take you alllll down. That training mode is the most exciting thing, for me, to come from smash. There is nothing like it out there.

I've honestly cooled off on Smash, I haven't cared for them much since the original and Melee (though the level editor in the Wii one was fun). But I'm definitely getting pretty hyped for Ultimate now. It looks like a legit celebration of the series up to this point throwing everything at the wall. As long as there's no tripping, I'm in.

Three versions of Samus! Simon and Richter are fantastic additions.

Those will be some cool Amiibos.

My tournaments will be: 8 player, ice climbers only, nothing but pokeballs and assist trophies, as they intended.

I've already touched on this, but damn am I impressed by the arcade stuff that's ending upon Switch. It's not what you'd "expect" -- we're getting all sorts of oddballs that were never ported back in the day, or only received one or two very obscure ports. Talking about games like:

Kid's Horehore Daisakusen
Omega Fighter
Sky Skipper
Heroic Episode
Traverse USA
Shoot Out
Nitro Ball
Gate of Doom
Super BurgerTime

...and more

Hopefully all the stuff that's on PS4 will come to the Switch as well. Wish Hamster & FTE would just dump all these releases on us at once.

I should probably get Octopath Traveler. I've been craving a "retro-modern" JRPG. Games like Radiant Historia really impressed me last gen.

What the hell's going on with Dark Souls? The weird thing is there's been plenty of gameplay at various events and what has been shown so far seems to run fine.

Most likely thing is that the online portion has been built to rely on Nintendo Switch Online, which hasn't launched yet. Would not surprise me at all to see Dark Souls Remastered finally hit shelves next month when that service launches.

I'm starting to question keeping that one preordered with all the floating dates. Dead Cells i'm considering picking up now, and Monsterboy I have on preorder through amazon along with Mega Man in October and whenever Tales of Vesperia DE pops up that too. Pretty positive I'll snap up that Pokemon game, just not sure I like the idea of blowing added limited resource on a $50 ball.

I haven't looked much lately in all fairness what else is coming in this year and when, but I slowly (very) pace a day or two a week for a few hours into Ys 8 around other stuff that's non-gaming or a little Star Trek Online as I like the ship combat in that (almost relaxing.)

I'd love to get a certain date on Vesperia at least to drive me into finishing Switch stuff, very much including Ys8 as I know I won't be able to split time there.

I'm prob gonna get MM11 through Gamestop as they have an exclusive Amiibo bundle.

I don't know what the deal is with the ball - like what does it even do? - but I am pretty sure you can get the game without it. That's my plan.

I haven't looked much lately in all fairness what else is coming in this year and when,

Stuff I'm still looking forward to in 2018:

SNK Heroines (9/7)
Valkyria Chronicles 4 (9/25)
Starlink (10/16)

There's a few others that are lesser priority to me (Monster Hunter Generations, Crystal Crisis, SNK 40th, Namco Museum, etc) but the ones I'm most excited about are the ones I mentioned above along w/ Pokemon.
