so I didn't previously understand that Pokemon: Let's Go Pikachu/Evee will be a remake of Pokemon: Gold, which was really the ONLY Pokemon game I ever got really into. So now I went from mild interest to super excited and definitely getting it.

Right. Yellow is the only one I was ever into. I have NO IDEA why I typed "Gold," haha. I never even played Gold.

Couch coop pokemon with one handed operation. Yeah thats an ideal play with my wife kinda game.

I'm about 5-6 hours into Octopath Traveler and loving it. So far I arbitrarily started with Ophelia. Her backstory sounded really interesting and didn't know that she'd be a white mage-type of caster. Second character I picked up is Cyrus. So I have two characters that can nuke. Right now I'm grabbing the merchant and heading south afterwards to get a tank.

How many of you darted around the map to form a party versus a more direct, linear approach? What were your results if you did it differently? I'm wondering if there's any impact as to the paths you take.

So far I enjoy playing it for an hour or so a day.

I ended up picking one character and going in a circle. The only darting around the map you can do early without going massively out of your way is to go halfway in one directly, then flip and go in the other direction, since the initial towns are set up in a circle.

I went with the girl squad first, then opted to get the other characters aswell.

Started with Cyrus. Got Ophilia, then H'aanit, then Therion, and just got Alfyn. I love the fact that Alfyn has some Southern speaking quirks but isn't a stereotypical ignorant hick.

I started with Ophilia, and just did the three closest towns first. I didn't want to overthink it - just wandered wherever. I've been posting my progress over in the RPG Progress thread. I'm 18 hrs in now.

Tressa

I think I'm going to pick up Olberic and then Primrose. So far it's a pretty robust and exciting game and it's pretty easy to learn, but I can't imagine the combos that some others like Popo and Fast have been describing. Right now I'm lucky to lock / canel down a mob for a few turns. Can't wait for some of the bonkers wombo-combos.
