Re: Switch Discussion Thread
I'm really digging the preview video for Let's go Pikachu and Let's go Eevee. Pokemon Go is actually my favorite game in the franchise, so I like that Nintendo is incorporating some of those mechanics into a (somewhat) more traditional Pokemon game.

Re: Switch Discussion Thread
I mentioned in another thread that I'm actually thinking about picking up another Switch for various reasons. So help me catch back up - what exclusives have come out so far in 2018 that you guys are really into?
Also - have any of you messed with Phantasy Star Online 2 yet? I'm wondering how easy it is to install in the US, and how viable is it is to play if you can't read Japanese.
Also, does the version of Paladins on Switch have a free-to-play version like on Xbox One and PC?

Re: Switch Discussion Thread
You only want to hear about 2018 releases? So far not much had come out this year that’s exclusive but there have been a few Wii U ports. If you missed that system then Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze is amazing, Bayonetta 2 kicks butt and Hyrule Warriors is good fun. Captain Toad Treasure Tracker also comes out soon.
As far as actual exclusives the new Mario Tennis is supposed to be fun. I have it ordered so I’ll have impressions on it once I get it. I’ve also heard really good things about Celeste, and will probably pick that up on sale at some point. Also the arcade version of Donkey Kong was just ported, which isn’t technically exclusive but is certainly the easiest way to play the arcade version. There’s also story dlc for Splatoon 2 that just came out and is supposedly very good. Dlc for Mario and Rabbids comes out soon as well.
As far as pre-2018 exclusives, my favorites are Mario and Rabbids, Mario Odyssey, Golf Story and Splatoon 2.
I do believe Paladins is free to play, but I’ve never tried it. Fortnite is free to play so the system definitely allows that.

Re: Switch Discussion Thread
yeah was just asking about 2018, since I had a Switch until late last year so I had kept up on all those 2017 games. The arcade release of Donkey Kong IS awesome, though.
For what it's worth I HATED Celeste... though I do think it's probably fun for folks who like such games. Think Super Meat Boy, etc.

Yeah it looked like Super Meat Boy to me and I really enjoyed that one so it seems up my alley. Thanks for the impressions though

I know there's shooter/arcade fans here, in case you missed this. It allows you to play your switch handheld in tate mode. Really cool project

Okay, yeah I think you'll like it a lot then. I just didn't have the patience. Got really frustrated really quickly. It's super cute visually, and the music is great, though.ESauced wrote:Yeah it looked like Super Meat Boy to me and I really enjoyed that one so it seems up my alley. Re: Switch Discussion Thread
I was all about ready to dismiss it as gimmicky/yet-another-kickstarter-accessory/not-worth-it-for-the-few-games-supported, but actually for just £10-ish it's well worth it. Backed!

Re: Switch Discussion Thread
I had been playing Ikaruga thinking it would cool if the joycons could somehow slide onto the top and bottom of the Switch to achieve what this accessory does. So it is a sweet idea
