I got up to the lightning boss on the ship, but I got owned really fast.
He was the boss that gave me the most trouble too. Miriam is great against him though. Her higher jump let's her jump up and hit him when he flies around and over him when he uses his big lightning wave attack. You can also slide under his wind attack to close the distance to him. If you have the three knives weapon, you can hit him in the air with those too. In fact, they work like Gebel's bats, so each one hitting adds to the damage.

If that doesn't work, Albert's ice magic can still get you a free hit in, but his lightning spell is devastating. You can get it on the walk up from the green lantern. Zansetsu's chain weapon also hits at an angle, so you can smack this guy in the air.

I think my least favorite enemy in this game is the evil paintings. The first time I came across one I didn’t realize I was on a death timer and didn’t kill it in time. I panicked when I see the next one and just couldn’t land a hit on it. I resorted to just sitting in its path with Miriam and hitting it when it gets close enough. I have to sacrifice a few hits but it’s better than dying.

yeah i didn't know the painting would one hit kill you the first time i played. my least favorite is the red cats or whatever it is that crawls on the ceiling and drops right on your head. if i don't have the right sub weapon or can't move into the right spot with alucard, i don't know how you don't take damage.

Those paintings sound a little like an homage to one of the midbosses from Rondo of Blood.

They are most definitely an homage to that guy. They also go down in one hit to ice, so a little protip for people.

If you don't have ice (something that will happen with a solo Zangetsu run), you can get a hit or two in, then jump it pretty easily if you're in the middle of the screen. The instant-death nature of the attack makes things a bit more harrowing, but once you know how to dodge effectively, neither will give much issue.

Hmm, the Ritual of the Night demo has been delayed a week. Apparently some bugs were found when it was shown at E3, so they are implementing fixes.

Yeah I just saw this email. Honestly didn’t remember there was a demo at all and probably won’t even play it anyway, but I like the honesty in the email. They’ve had delays but they’ve communicated them well. And fixing bugs found at E3 sounds like a good idea to me.

I'm not disappointed because I had no idea a demo was coming!!! Looks like the pushed back date is June 28th, which is around the corner.

Is the demo going to be available to everyone?
