Oh wow, I'd totally be interested in grabbing that. Playing on a CRT in Tate mode would be awesome. Also they did release it on switch? That'll do in the mean time. Surprised there aren't mini arcade cabinets you can slide the switch into, I'd be into that. Especially with all the shooters on there

I’ve seen some mini arcade cabs for switch. Maybe on Etsy? I don’t know if there are vertical ones though

Even so, how many people are willing to TATE their CRT every time they wanna play? Especially if you own something 27" or larger... They aren't easy to lift.
A lot of later CRTs (with flat screens) had very boxy cabinets, making it easier to stand on its side.

Have care though, the larger CRTs could crack the bezel when rotated. The matched curve supports are only at the base.
Left bottom corner of picture below, The tube supported inside by cradles only at the bottom. There are no supports other then the thin plastic bezel when the TV rotated to TATE mode. The larger over 100 pond tubes without the supports eventually will drop out inside when set sideways.

This is one of the reasons why I own two monitors. It wouldn't be safe or even possible for me to TATE my 31kg monitor each time I want to play on vertical.

68.34 pounds, for our American friends.
I'm not sure how heavy my 27" Sony Wega is, but it's a bear to deal with. My 32" Trinitron... I can't even move it by myself.
PVMs have very square enclosures and are mostly (relatively) small in size. I'd imagine they're probably the best to TATE.

As a matter of fact, I own a 27” Sony WEGA. I can tell you it weighs exactly 99lbs. I can also tell you that I have no intention of trying to turn this behemoth onto its side.
By the way, if anyone is reading this post from metric land (not ‘merica) 99lbs = 44.9kg just for your information.
