I've made it to mission 76 in Urban Reign. There is a point where this game drops all pretense of being fair, and becomes absolutely, ludicrously, obscenely difficult.

I am long past that point... and I've still got 25 more missions to go. :?

This Urban Reign really is a dreadful tale of despair and suffering hum?
I credit-fed Undercover Cops yesterday and unfortunately i did not enjoy it at all, the graphics are good but everything else is bland and uninspired.
When it comes to Beat'em Ups i care a little too much about the setting of the game, fantasy and "reality" are my favorites by far, while the fantasy tone by itself evokes that sense of raw wonder and far away land, i like to think that games set in real world could be something that happens at the heat of the night at the city or something.
Having said that, maybe this is why my 2 favoutire beat'em-ups games are Golden Axe and Streets of Rage on the Mega Drive/Genesis.

Back to Undercover Cops:

The last boss and his stick of power :|

The game takes place in a post-apocalyptic world and you are one the three street-sweeper that have to stop this mad scientist from destroying what is left of the world.
The graphics are ok with lots of particles but everything else is over too simplistic and it is almost impossible to play without credit feeeding, wich is the most anoying thing to me.

I tried each of the Gameboy Double Dragon games last night:

Double Dragon - Good, responsive brawling; first boss is really hard; everyone else is really easy; the attempts at platforming kill it, unfortunately; made it most if the way through stage 3, but I’m nit going to be playing it any more

Double Dragon II - a bit weird, but OK; will probably spend some more time with this

Double Dragon III - just dreadful

Which version did you try? The gimped US version, or the Alpha/International/JPN versions?

It would have been more accurate to call Urban Reign instead Hurt 'n Pain.

It's missing attack moves and I think missing background graphics, which may change your opinion on it.

I'm not even as far in as Ex, and I'm getting destroyed. I was feeling good when I took out like four missions in a row not even knowing what I was doing, but then I hit this one. So I turned it off and booted up The Mummy Demastered instead. Yes, I temporarily put beat-'em-up month on hiatus. :P

Ok I think I'm gonna give Alien Storm a chance tonight. I've literally had to start scheduling non-Overwatch nights for myself to make time for other games, ha!

If you're playing the Genesis port of the game make sure to learn how to attack without using energy, i played Alien Storm for the first time this year and burned out my energy gauge and did have a rough time by the end, great game and amazing choice!
